I am curious if you have an opinion about the compatibility of colossal dinosaurs and a jungle that is on average thicker than the real world Amazon Rain Forest. Are those two things even remotely compatible?
Well it depends on three factors how big is the long neck(¿35 meters,25?) what type of threes we are talking about because the threes in the Amazon. are pretty Thin. So a long weight creature could easily stomp them and breach a way trough even if the trees are in large quantities and very close to another and the las factor is there any large swamps in lustria. If the awnser to the first factor is 15 meters or less meters the awnser is probably no,if the awnser is 20 to 30 meters or more the awnser is yes. The awnser of the second and three factors is probably yes because the area near Tlaxnla is refer as a large swamp and the threes that grows in jungle swamps are usually pretty thin. I suppose that the long necks will live in small herds(3 to 6) and will wander the swamps eating plants and when the food is over they just walk through the jungle stomping every thing (except temple cities[or maybe even temples cities a there bornes the legends of thunderlizards]) other possibilities is that they live in the ocean near the coast and they are so big that they walked in the not sol deep seaground surrounding the coast and with their long necks they eat the threes of the coast so yeah lustria can be compatible with long neck dinosaurs
That exactly the art I am talking about I’m sure there exists at least one more canonic picture of long necks
Well yes but the dread saurian and the stegadon are already war engines and mobile fortress alike maybe it could’ve more like a walking city if the lizardmen would wan’t to stabling an small settlement in a war zone and use them to carry artillery and supplied
I have created an article on my Lustria World Anvil page for Lustria's preeminent long neck dinosaur, the tallosaur. I'm open to constructive criticism and feedback. Nothing is set in stone yet, and I have been somewhat vague on exactly how big they are, but I covered the basics of how they fit in Lustria's ecosystem and how Lizardmen use them. And if someone has a good picture that I can legally use, I can rewrite my physical description to match that picture.
I don't know if I'd call a Stegadon a mobile fortress, the skinks are still fairly exposed. And although the Stegadon formidable, its size would allow many larger beasts/ enemies to still be in reach if the crew if/when close enough. I always imagined a Sauropod unit to be a support unit. Armed with multiple ballista (maybe other siege weapons made specifically for the Sauropod's howdah), having aviaries on top of platforms where Terradons and other fliying units could rest before taking off again - like a aircraft carrier. Garrisoned with many skinks which hurl javelins from high above. Carrying supplies enough for its own crew and to resupply the front lines or to bring else where. Among other uses, but these are just off the top of my head. A true fortress. Example: Only example i have is my own which im (still) building. Rebuilding the original howdah to be more like a wrap around deck with a second level as a "command" area and landing strip for aerial units/second area for more skinks to throw projectiles.
I always felt a bit disappointed and annoyed that Forgeworld went with a super big carnivore instead of a Warhammerized sauropod. If any army should have had a ridiculously huge beast with 10 wounds as a Forgeworld model it should have been Lizardmen. Also, there's fluff specifically stating that there are sauropods/sauropod analogues in Lustria on page 21 of the 8th edition army book.
