Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Mortal Realm: Ghur Leaders Lord Kroak (320) - Spell: Celestial Equilibrium Stegadon with Skink Chief (250) - General - Command Trait: Prime Warbeast - Artefact: Cloak of Feathers - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Skink Oracle on Troglodon (220) - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration - Spell: Tide of Serpents Battleline 10 x Skinks (60) - Meteoric Javelins Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers 20 x Saurus Warriors (180) - Clubs 5 x Saurus Guard (100) Units 12 x Razordon Hunting Pack (240) Behemoths Bastiladon (220) - Weapon: Solar Engine Bastiladon (220) - Weapon: Solar Engine Battalions Thunderquake Temple-host (150) Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs Balewind Vortex (40) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 105 With this second list, I can take points with Saurus while letting my Skinks be a screen. Basti and Razordon have the same role, to shoot and maim units. What do you think? Maybe a DT list with Kroaq and a Troglodon as a general with Nimble?
i think specifically for night haunt, having the razordon shooting will help you more than kroxigor will. id go for bodies and speed with the skinks rather than having the saurus just stand somewhere. id go with the second list but take another 30 skinks in 10's rather than the saurus
How do you see 2 units of 20 Skinks? Otherwise I don't be able to meet the Battlelines, unless I drop the Troglodon.
I think the Krox List is more killy, but having some Saurus Guard can be huge against alpha strike armies.
Maybe we should twist the list a bit. I just recall he bought Lady Olinder and Arkham recently, so he'll probably bring them.
Bastiladons and stegadon bow should be able to kill arkham turn one and Olynder in the next two turns.
TBH, you can bring any playable seraphon list and roll over Nighthaunt. Starborne would be a bit stronger, because NH have some nasty abilities which can hurt with low bravery. But considering the stength of your lists, it doesn't matter much. For more effectiveness I'd just drop trog. He doesn't worth much and you already have great hero sniping abilities. Nighthaunt doesn't have shooting, so maybe you can save some points by dropping guard. Kroxigors are great on paper. 6 of them doesn't require much support - keep any skink unit within 6" and that's all they need. Find a place for a skink priest. Having 1-2 in TL list is very helpful - both prayer and CA are very strong. I like to make him my warlord for a free +1 to-hit per turn. Razordons are poor compared to other units. They are too random and lack rend and have poor to-wound value. So I vote for kroxies.
The whole idea of a Troglodon is to cast Celestial Deliverance through him. A 10" range (16" with Balewind) is almost melee. Also, he serves as a distraction. I bring Kroaq because I need more CP than I can count. If I'll bring an Astrolith for extra range if he were useful in Coalesced. I'm having Guard so I protect him from any DS. But maybe you're right. Maybe screening him with Skinks? You'll shoot 21 times per turn with Razordon. They lack rend and they're perfect against Nighthaunt because of that. Ghosts ignore rend.
You want Guard. There is too much shooting atm. Nighthaunt doesn't have too much besides the spirit torment, but it is good to get accustomed to playing against multiple armies with a list.
