Hey guys, ive found this army online and its completely inspired me to create a similar scheme but im going to make it more mythic.

    Here are some photos.

Any ideas what paints might be at work here?

    TIA!

Looking like a lot of grey tones were used, the more cool variety like the colours that have the hint of blue for the armour/would be gold parts.
I can the green is blended into a brown, looking a a light green with a recess shade of a brown. Looks more like a darker shade of Dryad Bark.
Or possibly it's a brown paint for the basecoat and then carefully drybrushed/highlights with greens for the scales and a bit of wetblending for the face.

As for the colours themselves, for the browns I can see Dryad Bark with a layer of Gorthor Brown.
Greens, Waagh Flesh base coat, Moot Green and Skarsnik Green for the layer.
Agrax Earthshade could be used for the brown but it's hard to tell. I can see a brown used on the stone area
This is going by my own collection of colours that I have so far as looking at GW's website doesn't give a clear idea on how colours look. There is other brands of paint out there but I don't know much about matching the colours in those areas.
    Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Little-myth for getting back to me. I'm defnitely worried about chucking paint on and it not being even close to what im seeing but i guess i could chuck it on a palette and see how it comes out?
I only use Gw and Vallejo so ill have to have a dig around.
Thanks again for taking the time to view the photos!

    That's okay!
You can always test the paints out on a spare model, I sometimes test colour schemes on a spare Skink. Saves painting an entire unit then

Ill give it a go and see how it ends up. My first army, so i'd like it to be a half decent shot!

@little-myth is right, test stuff out in a spare model or spare parts to try and nail down the scheme you want. If you have Saurus Guard kits you should have tons of spare heads to practice on haha

Morning guys, should’ve of been posting sooner but you know how life can get! I’ve not ovely keen on Saurus warriors but it’s a good opportunity to test out some schemes like you guys suggested.

how do you think my wet blending looks and is it a close match?

any ideas of the blue gem colours?

how do you think they’re achieving the stone affect I can’t seem to nail it?

    looking forward to the feedback

    cheers

Well, not that I'm any kind of even remote expert, but I think it looks pretty good.
