This is so true. And is probably the result of a court case wherein someone sued the park rangers or whoever was responsible for the area as "there wasn't clear guidelines about NOT going into the volcano, so I had to assume it was safe." Ridiculous. Much like the company being sued because a workman "was given a wrong ladder" and then had a fall.
so true. "How could i knew i cannot put the cat in the microwave? he was wet and it was not stated in the instructions!" the fact that you can sue the park rangers for no sign that explicitly forbids to not step on the volcano, drives me crazy.
I think my favorite is the "Warning - Contents may be hot" that now seems mandatory on all disposable coffee cups... Really?!?!?!
When I was a kid, I was fascinated with electricity. I remember I had an old lamp, with no bulb and I turned it on and looked inside (hoping to see electricity flowing). I was very disappointed to see no mini-lightning sparking between the connection points. Then I had a curious thought. What would happen if I stuck my finger inside? Would I light up like the Tom of Tom & Jerry fame? I did so, managed to burn the top of my finger and had to keep it in ice for 48 hours. Very painful. So, yes. "Just don't touch it."
