Yup. So the climax of Dawn of Justice, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and for some reason Lois Lane are fighting Doomsday. Batman tries to use a kryptonite spear to kill Doomsday but his lack of super strength causes him to lose the first round of the fight and drop the spear in a well. Superman cannot get the spear because it's kryptonite and Batman is dazed so Lois Lane goes after it in a pool of water with rocks falling. Wonder Woman is standing right there. She is immune to kryptonite and fifty pound falling rocks. Then instead of handing the spear to Wonder Woman, Superman wields the kryptonite spear so he can die fighting Doomsday. Again, Wonder Woman could have wielded it and been just fine. It's very clear to me that the script was written and then Wonder Woman was tacked on to it. All she does is flirt with Bruce Wayne and swing her sword and the monster a few times but she had the power to remove every obstacle in the whole freaking movie. Ummm, here are some kittens
Again, that's why I like Young Justice. Both the heroes and villains have a wide variety of super powered or Batman-esque badass normals at their disposal. Both sides try to play to their strengths and capitalize on their enemies weaknesses. If having Hero X or Villain Z on hand will immediately end the episode, the writers will come up with a reason why said character is too busy to show up. Usually this means sidelining Superman and the Green Lanterns. One of my favorite episodes in season 3 is when the villains were so successful sidelining the Justice League's strongest heroes during an alien invasion and the villains have to save the world (because they cannot rule the world if aliens blow it up). Here are some Basett hound puppies.
