    this week i finished sculpting my newest model, the spinogor a kroxigor/spinosaur hybrid. hopefully all the pics are in order so you can see the progression.
    the idea was a larger more dinosaur and aquatic kroxigor, so lots of fish attached to it.
    the harpoon swordfish weapon is detatchable for blood bowl.
    i will do another post (when painted) including a warscroll made using elements of the avil of apotheosis rules plus some extras as i want this creature to have lots of monster specific debuffs.
    (FLUFF/LORE)
    Every few decades, when a region becomes too wild and overrun with monsters something unespected can take place in the spawning pools. almost as though the pool itself knews it needs a champion the tame the wild. when spawning a brood of kroxigor the pools will whirl and turn red with the blood of hatchlings as one deformed kroxigor grows large feeding on it siblings.
    usually when the happens the creature is safrificed. the priests believing it to be a bad omen and attempting to right this unsettling wrong. sometimes the young monster is cast out, scared away to die in the jungles. creature will be easy prey for the monsters inhabiting the land. fewest of all are kept and raised be wary attendents there masters recognising the potential of this creature.
    a fully grown spinogor will establish a large teratory around its birthplace. its roar is far more powerful and louder than would seem possible from anthing of its size and is usually enough to scare away any other monster wanting to claim land in the teratory it has claimed. its capable of catching its own food and making tools and weapons from the bones so has little need of other seraphon. the seraphon are happy with this arangment, leaving the spinogor to guard the boarders of thier teratories only calling apon them when needed for war.
    although larger and far louder than other kroxigor, most kroxigor will give it a wide birth. They have an inherent distrust for the spinogors knowing how they usually come to be. skinks and saurus are fearful too not wanting to end up like its siblings. some skinks however who fancy themselves the bravest and most stealthy of thier kind take on the precarious challenge of stealing a fish from a spinogor and replacing it with a gold charm. mostly this is seen as the ultimate test of skill and courage but some of the survivers believe they are stealing the spinogors strengh when they do this.

    :wideyed::wideyed: Very well crafted :woot::woot:
    I spotted it on facebook already.

    I love the amount of detail it has, and the weapon is awesome!

    here it is! the paint job is finished. i haven't finished the water effect on the base but really wanted to do an update post 2 weeks after i finished sculpting it.
    also a possible warscroll for it please let me know what you think. i have tested it against lots of monsters and units and feel it has a fair points value. it may loose in a straight fight to things with a much lower point value like the war hydra but it makes up for that with its abilities which make it an amazing nuisence and great support role.

    Great job on the model! Like the subtle colors, to blend more with the surroundings and the water.
    The warscroll looks cool to, I not that oppinionated about warscrolls, but it has a nice feel to it.

    Phenomenal work. The quality of the sculpt surpasses almost all of the seraphon range, and the actual color scheme you went for is phenomenal. Honestly i dont know what else to remark on it, its that good. If games workshop is watching, they should be taking notes

    thank you all for the coments on the spinogor. here is my next quickish skulpting project for a friend. (not nearly in time for christmas) my intention was to improve my skulpting skill, and speed by planing ahead and try to make a model in 3 sittings. It took 5 sittings.(armature, fimo inner, greenstuff head and make spikes - attach spikes and make glyph tags - torso and tail including scales - legs and attach to base - attach glyph tags) I had my own ideas for rules as a support increasing the damage of celestite weapons in an area around it as it runs all its glyph tags jangle together they produce a lightning that is conducted by nearby celestite increasing there damage. But it would probably make a nice saly or razordon too. steg1.jpg steg2.jpg steg3.jpg steg4.jpg steg5.jpg steg6.jpg
