Please no, not more Nighthaunt, they’ve got loads of units. Please GW, if you want to make another Death faction, please let it not be tied with Vampire Counts and Nagash...
Meh, I'd settle for a death faction opposing Nagash vampires or otherwise. At least then death might finally become interesting.
Hadn't seen it mentioned here, but the core rule book for Direchasm mentions the Seraphon warband in passing, referring to one of their members as an Oldblood named Klaq-Trok (which sounds kind of familiar? Might just be the saurus naming conventions, though). I'm really interested in seeing what the AoS interpretation of Saurus is going to be
it's not a known name so he is a new character. we are all waiting to see seraphon in AoS there is so little lore for us and most of it contradicts it's self
So slaanesh is just flat out getting a new tome. I think this makes them the faction to be updated the quickest within all of AoS? Even SCE went more than two years before they got their second tome, and that was mostly just to combine the dracoth tome with the regular tome instead of a complete update.
yeah thats pritty dumb and kinda a slap in the face to factions like cities ogers and us that had to wait 5+ years to get theirs. and they don't even need to get one they could just update them in the next broken realms book
Im really baffled that Slaanesh receives a new tome. I went to look up release dates for AoS battle tomes (not sure how reliable it is) but found this: https://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/Battletome There are still 4 books from AoS 1st edition (Nurgle, LoN, DoK, IDK) that could use an updated tome. Even in AoS 2nd edition we still got stuff like Nighthaunt, BoC and Gitz that are all fairly far behind. Sylvaneth was also a rather big mistake. Why Slaanesh above all of these? Im a bit fan of new AoS content in general, but it just seems so weird to me that they would re-release a fairly new tome.
Wasn't nurgle technicly the first 2nd edition tome? Or at least effectivly written for it? It's the first to have a proper summoning mechanic at least which didn't arrive till 2nd edition. But yeah, it's way too soon for a 2nd Slaanesh book.
I agree, this was a BS let-down. Why didn’t they simply release the second Broken Realms Book as Broken Realms: Sigvald and include all the rules for the new models in there, as @Erta Wanderer says? That’s what they did for the new Admech models they released around February-March time - they simply included the rules for them in Psychic Awakening: Machine War, which Admech players were going to buy anyway. I sincerely hope they give Fyreslayers a second wave with accompanying Battletome after this, because we Sons of Grimnir are in far greater need of reinforcements than the Chaos God of Transvestites. And I agree with @Grotpunter, certainly Maggotkin, Beastmen, Legions of Nagash and Nighthaunt could all do with a boost, either through Battletome or Broken Realms Book, as they’re the most underpowered factions right now (DoK and Idoneth already got some stuff out of Broken Realms: Morathi)
Well, time for Slaanesh to jump to the top yet again, lol! At least maybe people will stop complaining about Seraphon when Slaanesh becomes OP again after less than a year of not dominating the meta That aside, I really am starting to think that GW likes to have sort of a main antagonist faction in focus at any given time. In 40k right now it's Necrons, and it seems that with all the narrative events around Slaanesh in AoS right now it would seem that the Hedonites are going to be the "main baddies" for a while.
Yeah, given that Broken Realms evolves around Morathi and Slaanesh, IMO they should be the main, evil protagonist of this arc, fighting for dominance over the realms and forcing the factions to forge new allegiances (or anyway, causing a shift in power between old allegiances)
I wonder if we'll see factions like scaven and seraphon gain more allies as a result of this shift. I'd love to see us and slyvaneth work together in the lore, or well more of us in the lore in general.
I would really like to see more of us in the lore as well, but I also feel it's a bit of a situation where no lore is better than bad lore. If GW is just going to use the seraphon as punching bags I'll be quite annoyed. I can totally see them having the only seraphon appearence be a situation where Army X kills a bunch of seraphon to take their territory or magic items.
Our lore in the whole bit with Nagash was awefull. I think all we did was bring a bunch of Slann that kept up a magic shield to allow the armies of order to actually approach Nagash's stronghold due to all the deathmagic-nonsense instantly aging everyone who got to close. Which is fine it iself. But, there were a couple of issues. 1) It required multiple Slann, you know the most powerfull wizards in existence and even then they barely managed. And 2) chaos and destruction somehow didn't need this protection for some unexplicable reason. And that was our entire contribution. O and a Slann died in one of our spaceships so a Skink pushed the "spawn more saurus" button.
I'd say that our lore is negligible at best. The bg with the new battletome has improved without any doubt, but we lack any meaningful interaction with the rest of the AoS lore.
