Reminds me of the Gaijin Smash Blog. An African American man wrote an extensive blog for a while about his period as an English teacher in Japan.
Paraphrasing here.
"Japanese people must secretly hate Tokyo Tower because it gets destroyed in every monster movie. I was worried because now I was doing the tourist thing and I was in Tokyo Tower. Then I looked and noticed I was a full head taller than everyone in the elevator and realized I'm Godzilla. Since I wasn't planning on destroying Tokyo Tower that day, I guess I was safe."
