Well, someone other than myself disagrees, and at least some of the points are true (OT plot armour, Rogue One introduces to clear up a major plot hole, Holiday Special, e.t.c)

Anyone who prefers the crap prequels needs to have their head checked.

Ha ha. I know. Mostly, I was just trying to be funny. I still disagree with several of the comparisons though.

I think it's fair to say there are differing opinions on this matter and that people don't always like the same thing.

Probably best to leave it like that I think.

That’s one thing we can all agree on - that the Sequels suck big time!

Yeah, perhaps I shouldn’t have put that meme up, I was just interested to see someone else agree with my viewpoint and wanted to see what everyone thought of it.

    My fault, I apologise everyone

In fairness, I'm not angered by it, even if I disagree with parts of. I find it fun to talk about (and sometimes even debate) SW. @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl, I'm sorry if I upset you, or offended you. I know each of us is just trying to share our love for our preferred version of the movies; and in some ways hopefully attract other people by our passion for it.

Nah, i disagree with the content of the meme, but that kind of meme is meant to be funny.

Some things are true. The xmas special, the great lightsabers duels in the prequels...

however, some things could be easily reversed: for example, while "rogue one" is listed as a malus (required to fix things), it could be well listed as a bonus, in the same way Clone Wars is cited as a bonus tied to the sequels.
And we could also say that the Force is treated in a cool and appropriate way in the first trilogy, while in the prequels we have those abominable midichlorians...

No, no, you didn’t upset or offend me at all. I merely saw your post as a disagreement, which is fine given I already know the OT are your favourites.

I agree with that much - while Rogue One was intended primarily to fill that plot-hole, it was nevertheless a brilliant film that helped return some of the grimdark that Episodes I-III first introduced. I was honestly surprised by how great it was when I first went to see it.
Funnily enough I prefer the Midichlorian idea in Episodes I-III because it helped ground Star Wars as sci-fi proper, whereas the idea of the Force being a mystical energy field was too wishy-washy and lazy for my liking.

Every one of these statements is accurate, okay most of them. I am not tired of "It's a trap." if it is used sparingly.

Very few of them are true.

A typical fairy tale ending is not a bad thing.

I don't see how Rogue One plugs a plot hole, but the movie wasn't really necessary in my opinion.

The prequel trilogy generally had better lightsaber fights, but in my opinion that is not very important. While I think the prequels had better lightsaber fights on the whole, I think they were overdone.

The weakening of stormtroopers is accurate. It is why Return of the Jedi is the weakest of the OT. I still don't see the prequels as being any better. There were no real stakes pitting a completely interchangeable and expandable droid army versus a completely interchangeable and expandable clone army.

There is plenty of plot armor to go around in each and every Star Wars movie ever made.

I don't think it's fair to blame the OT for the Star Wars holiday special.

It's not a crime to like the prequels better than the OT in my opinion. But you will never convince me that the prequels are better movies overall.

The prequels did some things better than OT, but the prequels had weaker cinematography and weaker characterization and this in my opinion is insurmountable. All the stuff the prequels did better cannot make up for the fact that the characters were less engaging.

Nothing wrong with that at all, Rogue One was an excellent film, and certainly more grimdark than Episodes I and III, and tied with III as the most grimdark Star Wars film. It beats the Sequels by a country mile.

    I enjoyed Rogue One.

Not sure it's one of my favourites, but it was entertaining.

Especially the Darth Vader fight at the end. Even though he kills good guys... :(

Yes. Yes he does. Because he's one of the quintessential movie villains and needed some image-enhancement to reinforce how much of a bad-ass he's supposed to be. ;)

That’s the whole point. A villain isn’t very threatening if he doesn’t display the powers he claims he is capable of, because he’d be all mouth and no trousers. Indeed that was another of my problems with the OT originally - that Vader could talk the talk, but never really got the opportunity to walk the walk (in his fight with Obi-Wan Obi-Wan was old and had spent twenty odd years as an out-of-practice hermit, in his first fight with Luke he purposefully let him live and in his second one Luke beat him).

That Rogue One scene, however, redeemed him for me because it showed that Anakin/Vader had lost little of his power since his internment in his suit and really showed what he could do against the right enemy. As @Tk’ya’pyk says, it was a much needed piece of image-enhancement.

Are you inferring that Kylo is proof or disproof of my point?
