There is a tournemant at my LGW, and my next game is against a dark Elf player, he has 850pts, I have 750pts, we are allowed to change our lists before each battle, and so most people tailor their lists, I do not normally tailor units, prefering a good all comers list, yet my experiances with the DE last edition, combined with the guy I am playing saying he will tailor his list against mine, has made me decide to do so as well. The list I have used so far is
Skink Priest Rincewind level 2, staff of channeling and Plaque of tepok 130pts
20 Saurus Warriors with full command, HW+S 250pts
    10 Skink Skirmisers 70pts
    5 Terradons 150pts
    2 Salamanders 150pts
Do you think this will do okay, I would prefere not to tailor, but the fact my opponent is has me worried, perhaps drop the Terradons for extra skinks, and also is my Skink priest legal under 8th edition?
Advice on tactics against DE in small games welcome please.

Your skink priest is legal just remember that unless it's special times it's points cost by 4 and it should be below your total or above if it's core.

I've been playing small (1250pt) games vs dark elves and the only real problem I've faced is the Ring of Hotek. Even with Cupped Hand of the Old Ones I still had to roll 4 miscasts in one game. The repeater crossbows are annoying, but their -1 to hit gives them like 5's to hit i believe, and the Corsairs are easy if taken down quickly, as well as Cold One Knights, but you have to lock them up in close combat before they have a chance to do any damage.

The one time I have played against Dark Elves, I was soundly defeated. Mostly because I had too little defense against magic and shooting.

With this experience in mind, I'd rather trade one Teradon and two Saurrii for one more unit of Skinks. Not just against DE, but in an all comers list.
