It's frustrating trying to argue with a hardcore conspiracy theorist. All the evidence debunking them is just evidence that the conspiracy is even wider. I have a relative I do not like that believes in awful conspiracy theorists. I'm not even sure what he thinks of the moon landing. That's not his favorite conspiracy if it is one. As for the moon landing being faked. At the time, the Soviet Union had the KGB. The most efficient and ruthless spy agency the world had ever seen. Note, Vladimir Putin is ex-KGB. That proves that's where the real power of the USSR was. It is a fact that KGB did not expose the fact that the moon landing was fake. Assuming the moon landing was faked, this means 1) NASA somehow fooled the KGB but they were not able to fool penniless, politically powerless Americans who say the moon landing was faked. 2) NASA and the KGB were in cahoots. Neither makes sense. I sometimes believe some conspiracy theorists have a grain of truth, but in order for this to be the case, you need to draw a clear line between point A and point B. Do powerful people sometimes do bad things? Yes Do powerful people sometimes try to hide their bad things? Yes. But normally, powerful people only do bad things when they have something to gain from it. I don't see what there is to gain for NASA from faking the moon landing, they don't have as much money as people thing. I certainly don't see why the KGB would back them up.
