I see your point, but imho it's still not a good deal. You are stll forced to pay the 50 pts for the cp, and you may need those points elsewhere. The bomb reduces the effectiveness of your dinos, so that counts too. However i'll give it a try, just to be sure. I would like to see if it's better than it appears.
? You seem to be under the assumption that I included an Engine of the gods instead of a regular Stegadon, which is an option for the Stampede. Stampede make up is a chief, Steg or engine, and a Bastilidon Quake is a hunting pack/krox, chief/engine, and 2 stegs/2 basti/1 and 1.
You have 3-4 drops. You can fit both battalion. I did the maths at hand yesterday. You just need 2 screens of Skinks to fill battleline. Edit for a list: ++ Pitched Battle** 2,000 (Order - Seraphon) [1,990pts] ++ + Battleline + Skinks [60pts]: 10 Skinks, Skink Alpha . Meteoric Javelin, Celestite Dagger and Star-buckler Skinks [60pts]: 10 Skinks, Skink Alpha . Meteoric Javelin, Celestite Dagger and Star-buckler + Battalion + Thunderquake Temple-Host [1,000pts] . Bastiladon: Solar Engine . Kroxigors: 3 Kroxigor, Moon Hammer . Stegadon: Skystreak Bow . Stegadon with Skink Chief: 3. Sacred Stegadon Helm, [The Thunder Lizard] Prime Warbeast, General, Skystreak Bow Celestial Stampede [870pts] . Bastiladon: Solar Engine . Engine of the Gods: Fusil of Conflagration . Stegadon with Skink Chief: 2. Cloak of Feathers, [The Thunder Lizard] Prime Warbeast + Allegiance + Allegiance . Allegiance: Seraphon . . Coalesced: The Thunder Lizard + Game Options + Game Type: 2000 Points - Battlehost ++ Total: [1,990pts] ++ The only thing I don't really like from this list is the lack of a Slann for CP generation and giving our EotG an extra die to roll.
Possibly even more painful is the lack of a priest and hand of glory. Those Bastis aren’t going to have the impact they should.
Im tired so i might be missing something, but isnt it actually a 2 Drop Seraphon list? Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard Stegadon with Skink Chief (250) Engine of the Gods (260) Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (240) - Weapon: Skystreak Bow 3 x Razordon Hunting Pack (240) Bastiladon (220) - Weapon: Solar Engine Thunderquake Temple-host (150) Celestial stampede (140) Total: 1980 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 2 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 80 celetial stampede Chief, Normal Battleline Steggy, Bastiladon thunderquake Eotg, Razordons, 2 normal battleline steggy
Br Be'lakor extract: As a Silver Tower is intrinsically tied the realm gates, he suspects that the destruction of one would create such a magical backlash that wound destroy the gates themselves tearing open a way out of the Realm of Chaos for his Daemonic legions and causing untold devastation in its fiery death. Over the course of the book he manages to allow Lord Kroak to know the location of one of the towers, Kroak understands the potential side effect of one being destroyed, but does not want to miss the opportunity to end one of the enemy’s most powerful tools. He sends a Seraphon army to assault the tower, which wisely escapes into space but not before a Seraphon armada ambushes it, causing enough damage for it to crash land in Chamon. I have to say, I wasn’t expecting a space battle in this book! Kroak orders an army of Bastiladons led by Iq-To to coordinate their solar beams into the ruins of the Silver Tower detonating the chaotic heart of the device with the Age of Sigmar equivalent of an atomic blast leaving nothing but a thousand mile wide crater. While the blast destroyed the Silver Tower, it also caused Realmgate after realmgate in Chamon to explode into a vortex of chaos magic, and inadvertently putting Be’lakor’s plan into action.
Why an EotG from TQ? You won't get a benefit from CS battalion. I'd swap the Razordons for Kroxis and maybe a CP.
Eotg can benifit a list like this a lot. Without a slann you are only gonna roll 2d6, so you will be getting the heal quite often.
It could be interesting now that you have explained. I was thinking in brute force only. I loved EofG on Fantasy but in AoS 2 is trash for me, so I just forget whatever he does.
A couple more BR reviews are coming out and making it clearer what the Seraphon role in the narrative is outside of the Silver Tower stuff, and I feel like it'll probably please more people here. Their depiction as like, always looking ten steps ahead to the point that they're seen as unreliable but powerful allies seems reinforced here. They tie heavily into the Gradius storyline, apparently, first appearing (outside the silver tower stuff) as what looks like aid to him in defending the Ghyran gate to the Eightpoints, but instead of helping against nurgle the entire stegadon herd just barrels past everyone and dips through the gate. Later a slann (kroak?) intercepts his soul after he falls in the battle, to give him a vision of Belakor's devestation in Chamon and ensure he leads a multi-stormhost army straight there, that ultimately stops his plans from entierly suceeding.
Guys, about Kroak, I just had a revelation with my morning coffee we haven't talk about very much. He'll have a Keyword of Starborne or Coalesced (my wishlist is Coalesced as he is from the Old World along some Slanns) but he won't have a subfactio keyword (DT, FoS, KC or TL) for the same very reason. As he'll be likely a Behemoth or at least has a base big enough to be one, including him in q TL army would be very strong. But Katakross, for example, has a big base and 20W and is NOT a Behemoth but Nagash and Arkhan are. What do you think?
there are several units in the game with large basses that aren't behemoths or monsters. both of the IDK aspects the luminark and the huricanium, sigvald and he is definatly going to be smaller then Katakross. as for key words i would be surprised if he was keyword starbound or coalesced. outside warbands that hasn't happened yet.
The named LRL aspects of elements are keyworded to Illiatha I believe. And isn't Katakros keyworded Mortis Praetorian?
Well that's stupid too... major named characters shouldn't be limited to one subfaction... It's fine for random minor heroes, like that new lord celestant with his ward-save. But someone on the level of Kroak (or Katakros, or teclis etc.) reaaaaaally shouldn't be.
The Lumineth named characters (except Teclis and Eltharion) are all keyworded to Ymmetrica. Which is a way of essentially making sure those characters get no special rules in any subfaction, because Ymmetrica confers no rules useable by these named characters. And if taken in other nations they obviously still get no special rules. The one exception is Avalenor the Stoneheart King, who does enjoy bonuses from Ymmetrica.
