There's no horde bonusses on their new warscrolls. Same with the zombies.

Maybe GW wants to push people away from hordes and the absurd amount of dice some those can throw around?

It is possible there will be generic horde bonuses in the 3rd edition rules.

    Really?
Anyway, abilities that give bonuses to wounds are rarer, and i don't recall a case where i saw a +2 to wound.

Perhaps. They would have to heavily rework how Skaven work if that's the case however, short of any "faction rules override core rules" exceptions. As it is, Skaven doctrine heavily favors hordes by default with their faction-wide horde bonuses.

Maybe only handfull of factions gain hordebonusses (e.g. skaven & grots) while the rest get pushed back to smaller units being effective?

Or alternativly, maybe horde bonusses are changed to be table-wide. So instead of needing 30 bodies in a single unit, you just need 30 bodies on the table in total.

Regardless, it is an interesting development.

It was so weird to me to realize that Seraphon was a horde faction, when I first got started. If you have no context, it's not what you expect out of a race of 7-foot tall genetically engineered dinosaur soldiers. Because obviously it's not just skinks, it's saurus too.

The only two ways to build Seraphon are Hordes or Monster Mash, and only one of those is *particularly* good lol

you can build seraphon any way you want to build and still have a viable chance at winning in a straight up battle. i had a game of nothing but kroxigor and skink priests and had a jolly good time vs ogors

Weird that Radukar the wolf is being sold separately to the other cursed city villains, when their current warscroll means you have to take them all together. I know it’s because they’re different sprues, but hopefully it’ll mean you don’t have to buy both to use them anymore

Fair enough but I think Kroxigors are underrated. Especially in a casual setting

Honestly even in semi-casual settings I've had good fortunes with Kroxigors. I've done really well at some local casual tournaments while running some Thunderlizard thunderquake lists with a single 6 man unit of Kroxigors rather than Salamanders. They are really solid when surrounded by skinks, which are kind of needed in a Thunderlizard list just to have bodies to run around and grab objectives while the big dinos blow everything off the table.

Those models though are really ugly, I could never play at a GW store with Kroxigors because I don't have the official models. I just have some lost kingdom proxigors. Which I honestly don't even feel bad about anymore given GW's refusal to give us new sculpts for them. I have almost 9000 points of Seraphon and of them only 10 knights and those 6 Kroxigors are non-GW models.

    Yeah, pretty much.

@ArtoriusaurusRex , you can have a Seraphon army without fielding a horde, but you need some 10-"men" units to screen and objectives. Every army basically needs those (apart from giants)

I found them on Etsy. If you live in Spain, I can tell you where I got mine. They came out very good without any fails.

I know I'm being dumb, but all these old models going out of stock on the US store has me hopeful.

There's always hope. No one really expected there to be a new Lord Kroak coming out when he went out of stock online, especially since every time a model goes unavailable online people start getting hyped that it might mean a new one coming soon, but it rarely happens. No one here was expecting anything for Seraphon, quite frankly, as (together with Skaven and Cities) we've suffered the most from the old army import syndrome. Just bring in the old models and attempt to give them decent rules.

However, especially with the Vampire Counts returning as Soulblight Gravelords, I think a lot of people (myself included) are starting to allow themselves to hope that the other older armies in the game might get a refresh at least sometime in the next decade :)

Also, just a random thought, but I'm really starting to think that the 3e "meta" will be alpha strikes, at least at first. If the smaller board sizes are true, then turn 1 charges are going to be even more of a thing than they are now. Combine that with the hints that going second could be even better now that it apparently gets you more CP *and* you're still risking the double-turn, I really think that a lot of armies are going to switch to attempting to swarm you and hit you hard enough turn 1 that even if you do double-turn, you won't be able to claim objectives because all your troops are already in combat. If the double-turn is going to be even more effective, then trying to hit your opponent hard enough at the top of the round to cripple them even if they do get the double is going to be very attractive to any army with halfway decent speed, charge bonuses, etc.

While that's a possibility, reducing the overall table size doesn't necessarily mean armies start closer. They could keep the same distance between starting territories, you'd just have less space for deployment for example

Yeah, in 40k deployments have become smaller, but territories are the same.

We also will have charge reactions to reduce impact.
