Well thats extremely short sighted and disappointing. They could get a bunch of new people interested in the settings if they put their stuff on a mass market platform like netflix or amazon video

    Exclusive minis alongside it.

Can't wait to see if they will just shot themselves on the foot or straight up discharge the entire gun.

Next week, pre-orders for OUR PIMPED UP LORD KROAK and pretty much the last batch of AoS 2E.

    Now, note this:

Pretty much spoiled that the next starter kit for AoS is named Dominion, and not only that:

Rumours about hobgoblins? pretty much confirmed in Warhammer+ reveal.

Yep, I’ve been following the rumours on TGA, and the rumours they had from a YouTube channel called Grimdark Live said the 3rd Edition Box would be called Dominion. It appears they were right, and if they’re right with this they’ll be right with the other stuff too.

And I’m in two minds about the hobgob-bog-lins GW appear to be including in the box. On one hand I’d rather have seen a Destruction faction that veered away from might-makes-right-krump-it-up Greenskins and Ogres, like Fimir or Kragnos Centaurs, but these chaps still look good, and are also potentially usable in Fantasy with custom rules, as I was recently reading my 8th Edition Greenskins book again and there was a smidgeon of lore in there about ‘bog-Goblins’ or ‘Boggarts’ that they never expanded upon at the time, so it’ll be a pleasure to finally get a glimpse of these on Saturday and write some rules for them in Fantasy in the coming months.

My only concern is that GW will go the Indomitus route and create a huge but crazily expensive box that’s While Stocks Last, and then produce three smaller boxes out of that with the biggest one being the same price but far inferior value for money. I really hope they don’t do that again.

Well, the new Greenskin faction has been shown in all its glory - again I’m in two minds about it. On one hand, I would rather have had Fimir, because they had so much lore revolving around swamps and bogs, whereas these have very little relevance to bogs and swamps and to me it feels that GW just shoehorned that part of the lore in to give them a different location from the other Destruction factions. Also they could certainly have come up with a better name than ‘Kruleboyz’.

However, the miniatures do look great, and the fact they’ve included Orcs and Goblins together in this faction harks nicely back to the old Orcs and Goblins faction from Fantasy.

Also @NIGHTBRINGER we’ve got our first official Hobgoblin models: 6490FE38-68CD-409E-B2FE-E21D88B23FCF.png
What’s more, if the attention GW gave Nighthaunt in 2nd Edition is anything to go by, these ladz are just the tip of the iceberg. I look forward to seeing what else GW comes up with!

    My thoughts?

Really, Storminators are the only goofy stuff here, but I am absolutely sold to the boys here.

Not really a fan of those.

I much more like the Mongolian aesthetic of these guys:

Personally I'm really liking the Kruleboyz! I hope that they are able to go into the Big Waaagh! faction when they release, as the more different kinds of Orks working together the better :) I imagine they'll be more fun to fight than Ironjawz and Bonesplitterz, basically all either of those armies do is try and charge you turn 1 and table you before you can get ahead on objectives... I much prefer the "kunnin' " theme of these guys, plus they do somewhat remind me more of LotR Orcs, and that's pretty cool.

That's the same thought I had. A definite shift away from the classic (more cartoonish) aesthetic of the previous Orcs & Goblins.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about the very LoTR look of these orks. It's cool, but definitely a shift from the classic Warhammer ork.

I will focus on the SC side.
The new stormcast models are a HUGE improvement over the existing ones.
One could day it wasn't a hard task, but still.
Still not my cup of tea by a long shot, but the chariot for example is really good.

Storminators are the only new guys I really didn't liked: the shield is awesome, end of their story.

Meanwhile, everyone else look pretty cool: the wizard would be a hard choice to custome for me, both her diadem and mask are really cool.

Also, Lord-Stupidestnameverum has a really awesome dwarfish helmet. CLAP. Need more of that.

Everyone else looks much better then what their Firstforged brethren looked liked when they came out for the first time, quite literally a first draw versus a detailed product.

But damn it I'm more fascinating by the new Kruleboyz.

The only thing that worries me about them is that they end up being too kunnin' for their own good fluffwise. I do like me sum' kunnin' yet brutal boyz, but they are starting to look a bit too sophisticated for greenskins.

The prospect of learning and overall more intellectual greenskins can be interesting yet extremely alienating, more because they are looking almost straight out from Jackson's LotR.

I'm also not a fan of their shiny red shields, but I am confident that they will look glorious painted with oily, grimmey, earthen colours, and having at least one heavy weapon again is something I have been wishing for a while. Maybe some day Da Big WAAAGH! will get crude catapults and maybe a trebuchet and a better battering ram.

Anyway, LOVED the Gnashtoof: reminded me a lot of one of México' dog breeds, the xoloitzcuintle:

And the future models are extremely cool looking, thanks to the Gryph-beasts, but the chariot on itself is quite cool looking, and yet again the crude ballista and having trolls as mounts is just fantastic.

I'll leave you the link to the full article in War-Com. There are the 8 non-fully detailed changes that rule-wise the new edition will bring too.

Yeah these certainly look more like Middle Earth Orcs, and another interesting aspect of them is that though they are confirmed to be Orcs, they look more like a hybrid of Orc and Goblin, because they have narrower lower jaws than upper jaws, a trait more often found in Goblins, as opposed to classic Orcs who have the reverse, as can be seen in the Ironjawz models:
    upload_2021-5-30_9-17-31.jpeg

Which of course reflects their background as a race of Orcs that doesn’t mind using traditionally Goblin tactics if it means staying alive to fight another day.

The other two plastic kits that will be coming out are also great, the bolt Thrower would make a great Spear Chukka in a Fantasy Greenskin army and the beastmaster riding the troll is also a fun model.

I do agree the new Stormcast models look better. They’re starting to evolve beyond the fantasy Space Marine aesthetic a bit now, and I like how these new ones mostly have really Dwarf-like helmets, a lot like some of the Kharadron ones, hinting that Grungni is now getting involved a lot more in the development of the Stormcast and may well be having a much greater part in 3rd Edition as some rumours are saying.

The Gryph models are great too, the new Gryph Hounds are much more dynamic and the Gryph Chariot also looks pretty good (even if Sigmarines are continuing to fulfil the Jack-of-all-trades mantra ).

However I don’t like the angelic leader much, partly because I’m not fond of angels as a concept in general (the main reason why I dislike the Blood Angels) but more because her chav haircut really detracts from the gravitas the model is supposed to exude. I still don’t know why GW insist on giving the Stormcast chav cuts and tattoos, it looks horrible especially as they’re supposed to be the protagonists.

I do like the new Orruk models, but do not see them as Orruks to be honest.

I don't care much for the SCE models. The halberds are pretty much the old high elf weapons and the chariot seems off.
You will not see me buying this box, but maybe end up with some of the Orruks one day.

    Grrr, Imrahil

Only in relation to being better than another SCE. I suppose even a SCE can be better/worse than another SCE.
