Have my first ever aos game coming up in our grow league and I am looking for suggestions for a 500pt list.

    I have;
    30 skinks (boltspitter+shields)
    2 bastiladons
    1 trog
    2 star priests
    1 priest
    2 foot-slogging oldones (1 greatsword/maul, 1 warsword)
    3 ripperdactyls
    3 terasaurs (bolas)

I have no preferences at this point on coalesced vs starbourne as well as on surfactions. And I do know that I could always just field all of my skinks with a pile of heroes in between :D

Using the Skink Priest as your general will save you a CP per turn as you can use its command ability on your bastiladon to make it hit on 3's. Your Starpriest in latter games can then cast hand of glory on it, to let you reroll 1's to hit. Then spend the CP you generate each turn to shoot twice with that buffed up bastiladon. PeW pEw PeW!

If you add to your collection a lot of other avenues will open up for your higher pointed games. Ripperdactyls while fast are sadly not very damaging, but they are still great in coalesced for flying over enemy units and onto objectives. Bringing additional Skinks to make them better targets for the Starpriest Serpent's staff buff is a great option as well. I really really like Chameleon Skink too. A couple 5x groups of them can cause back field headaches for your opponent.

    Hope this is helpful,
Go forth with the fury of the Old Ones.

Heck yeah! All of those look great!

I will be planning on picking up some additional models along the way, but I wanted to get a better feel for how I wanted to play my army, at least at first (of course, eventually, I want all the things [and then there's a new edition popping up right off the bat]).

I do already have the new Kroak and 3 terradon/ripperdactyls on sprue still.

I was expecting to need more baseline skinks, and maybe an astrolith bearer. I usually like to play armies/warbands/etc. with lots of mobility and moving parts, but I wasn't sure if I would change tracks with some AoS experience under the belt and just build up to a battleline of Stegadons in the end...

    Thanks again LizardWizard!

Had our first game last night. Oh boy, them Bastiladons bring the heat!!!

My opponent was a Gentleman and a Scholar, and really leaned in on the teaching while playing (which probably contributed a bit to my win). He was angling to win, but was definitely going for the fun route compared to brass tacks (ambushes can be rough).

Will probably have to bring multiple lists to the next game depending what/who I am playing against since it is a for fun league, and I am seeing the irl to why Seraphon are up there at the top.

Gratz on the win. Glad you had such a great opponent who was willing to instruct and help you along the way.
