If you look at the post of Killer Angel with the old FAQ you will see the Bastiladon rule i'm speaking off in the bottom right
Mortal wounds are caused by abilities which may be triggered by attacks, but are not attacks themselves. This wasn’t even something that really needed to be clarified to begin with and ignoring it is just breaking the rules. Scaly skin only reduces the damage characteristic of an attack by 1. Mortal wounds do not have a damage characteristic by their nature.
Funnily enough, Bound Spells are still in Warscroll Builder and haven't changed cost. Must be an oversight.
I have a question with the purple sun, the warscroll says you roll a die and at 5+ the sun goes wild, but if all the bound spells of seraphon never go wild, what would happen in this situation
Has it been officially rules that wild overrides bound? If it was a global rule I would understand it being overwritten but bound is a codex specific rule which should override the core rules per previous faqs.
Answered my own question. Per lates FAQ bound has been removed from the codex completely. So its no longer a conflicting issue. Page 60 – Spell Lores and Bound Endless Spells Change the header to ‘Spell Lores and Bonded Endless Spells’ and the rules under the header to: ‘Endless spells summoned by Seraphon Wizards are bonded to the model that summoned them. A bonded endless spell is always controlled by the model to which it is bonded. A model cannot be bonded to more than one endless spell at the same time and cannot attempt to summon other endless spells while it is bonded. If the model that summoned the endless spell is removed from play, then the endless spell is removed from play.’
Since we are at the topic of endless spells. What happens if me and the opponent have the Cogs in our lists. Can I summon mine while he/she has his/her up?
It seems purple sun is the most damaging endless spell now and more consistent than before, the trade off being it going wild often. Since we always maintain control of it it might be a decent consideration for us in the future, especially since mortals are more valuable now than ever with AOD, mystic shield, and finest hour
https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/4SSo1Yxr6XG2935T.pdf So, Draconith units for Stormcast but raised and hatched by the Seraphon, I guess? I kind of hope that history is reflected in their rules or something, incentivising or allowing Seraphon to take them as allies, otherwise it's pretty weird lore. That Slann can fold space and time to cut parts of the realms out and turn them into hidden sub-realms is really cool though, that'll fuel a lot of fun fan fluff
Maybe they'l be like slaves of darkness who can be taken into various chaos armies and can be fitted into both factions by taking the right keyword?
Speaking of StD, a friend of mine came to the realization that the Tzeentch-themed army he wanted to do, and played in 2nd Edition, is no longer legal. Presumably, part of the problem is that, unlike Cities of Sigmar whose baked-in rules allow them to take units from other factions as their own at a 1:4 ratio, Slaves to Darkness can only choose from a limited selection of units from the other Chaos factions, and at most limited to 1 such unit as part of a coalition army.
Im not up to speed on all the newer ip names. is draconith their new name for dragons? like old school whfb dragons?
We haven't seen them depicted in either model or art form yet so we don't know exactly how they look. However they are generally described as one would describe a dragon. However they might have a bit of a more humanoid form. It's unclear right now where they fall on that line between being dragonmen and being just sentient dragons.
The dracoths the SCE ride & the stardrake are supposed to be descendents of them if I remember correctly.
we know they can fly/have wings that they descend from 2 patriarchs one of light and one of dark and that dracothion is involved with them. so far that's it
Interesting extra lore. Always enjoy seeing Seraphon get dialogue and not just, then Seraphon appeared destroyed everything and disappear. Bit disappointing with that last bit, but I get it this is Age of Sigmar the cool dragons are going to go to the poster boys, but it would be cool if we could each get a dragon. One for Seraphon mounted by a saurus or maybe a Slann or skink and stormcast would have their own version with a stormcast rider. Two separate models and warscrolls.
