Yeah, there are a few good movies coming out these days but they are few and far between. I got scared out of my wits by the raptors chasing them around the building. As I near forty now, I've become a grumpy old man complaining about modern media is not as good as it used to be. I really don't like most modern pop music, but I really really like this one. I couldn't explain why I like this song and nothing else that came out in the last five years. Then I read the comment section of the music video and everyone said how this feels like a retro 2000s song. That's why I like it. It sounds like Paramore and Avril Lavigne and all the female singers mad at their dads in the 2000s who I once crushed on. I also like First to Eleven a lot because most of their covers are for 2000s songs. I'm a basic bro The 2000s music wasn't really that good. But it was scientifically proven in the 1990s that almost everyone prefers the music that was popular when they were about 18-28 years old, and they will listen to these songs the rest of their life. Everyone from the 1920s to 2020s seems to love to re-listen to the pop music of their young adult years. Anecdotally my grandparents had lots of records of 1940s music and my mom really liked 1960s music (though she was in her 20s during the 1970s so the rule is not 100% but the general trend holds). My dad was not a music lover, but his brother and sister liked 1970s music. It's not absolute. I listen to stuff that from before I was born and I listen to stuff from before my parents were born and once in a while, I enjoy contemporary music but for the most part I keep drifting to Y2K pop songs. I hope my minor epiphany about my shallow taste in music is sufficiently random for this thread.
It's random enough. Since you introduced me to First to Eleven, it is my default choice of music to listen to when doing mind-numbing admin work. She has a nice voice, they make decent tunes and she is very cute. It also reminds me of the songs that I grew up with.
