More lore than anything, but I kind of like the implication in the new stormcast tome as to why the Seraphon gave the Draconith away to the stormcast. The lore blurbs about them hammer home that stormcast/draconith pairs tend to act more as mentors/mentees or siblings than anything else, with the young draconith learning morality and evolving personality/culture from their relationship with the stormhost they join and the specific stormcast they partner with. They’re a culture-less people without real role models of their own (besides two old, mentally unstable drakes that hid away from the war against chaos until it was relevant to them), and it seems like the seraphon’s intent was to give them stormcast’s greatest trait by pairing them together- humanity. Its lore written to justify the models so it’s not like “this means it’s good we didn’t get them as part of our army” but I think it’s really cool as lore and as reasoning for us to hand over some teenage dragons we’ve hatched
Apparently, every single warscroll for every sigle army has disappeared from GW's site. No download available. Goodbye free warscrolls, GW has declared open war on everything that don't bring money.
That's really annoying, to put it mildly. example n. 1: all of my battletomes are in italian, because that's how my gaming group play, so i like to have the references in italian. Obviously, when i write here i may need to have the correct english reference, so i can look at the warscrolls... oh wait, no more. ex. n. 2: Rules help thread: user n. 1435 asks a question about an ability of a certain unit of SCE. And you know how often we debate on the exact text, RAW vs RAI and so on. Luckily i can look at that SCE warscroll.... oh wait, no more. ex n. 3: I've just played a game against Tzeentch. Cool, i would like to take a look at the warcrolls of that couple of units that impressed me, to look at their abilities and stats... oh wait, no more. ex. n. 4: i am thinking to buy that cool terrain, luckily i can read what its special effects are... oh wait, no more. yeah, no matter how i look at it, that sucks. Hard.
Is this operating under the assumption that the app scrolls will be paylocked as well? They are all available at the moment, dont know if they've said anywhere if warscrolls will eventually be behind the paywall or not.
I don't even know what the app looks like because there's about 400 warhammer apps. But to answer your question. Yes it will probably be paywall locked up.
Also I just discovered today that in the app information like mount traits and artifacts for the Orruk Warclans are pay walled, while they aren't for older battletomes.
assuming it ends up like the 40k app and according to my store manager yes it will be pay locked. you will have to buy each book to get access to those warscrolls.
yeah, there is a reason many are so critical of the new system. even leaving out people like me who could never get it to work
I vaguely remember there being a post from GW at some point claiming the basic warscrolls should be still available for free on there but the tomes are locked behind a paywall. But regardless, this is just a really bad way to handle it. Don't just silently change this. At the very least they should've put up some text explaining where the warscrolls went, instead of just making them dissapppear. edit; just tried looking on the warhammer+ site, its very unclear. The tomes need to be added seperatly even if you have warhammer+ and the army-builder is explicitly listed as a paid feature of warhammer+. But the core-rules are free and for the warscrolls it just says "all of them in one handy place" without making it clear if they're part of warhammer+, part of the tomes or if they're free.
Time to become a sea-faring Seraphon with an Celestite Cutlass and an eyepatch over my Carnosaur's eye, while a skink sits on my shoulder screaming 'Squark!'
We'll always have Wahapedia. I think I'd probably copy and paste on a Word document any info, like Alligiance abilities and so, to export to a PDF. I'll paste Warscrolls somehow.
for allegiances abilities, spells, artefacts and similar, wahapedia is pretty good... but afaik they don't have single units stats. Or am i wrong?
They do, just not in their main tabs. You have to click the skull icon after clicking into a factions rules to switch to the war scroll list.
If only i could like this more than once... i love wahapedia for the general info, but i wasn't aware of that part
lol its probably for the best if people dont know about that. once you start showing rules and stats that's when GW comes after you.
