yeah I’m pretty disappointed with him. While I don’t know how much corporate bs forced him to sucker up, that doesn’t excuse him. Ultimately I feel like what it says is simple: a fair few people value profit more than human rights
Yeah, but if you compromise your morals at the behest of the CCP, you don't get anything. In Cena's case, after his apology, his media was still blacklisted in China. If you sell your soul to the Italian Mafia or a Latin American drug cartel, they will at least pay you. Worth your soul? Probably not, but you don't get nothing. Generally speaking, if you do a favor for a criminal, they will usually give you something. It was theorized that the CCP is bad at negotiating with foreigners because they are used to negotiating with their own citizens who they can easily bully and will eat a metaphorical crap sandwich and ask for seconds.
Exactly. Remember, build a man a fire, he will be warm for a few hours, but set a man on fire he will be warm for the rest of his life. Human women can rationalize hurting men they love if their feelings tell them to do so, and they don't have literal predatory urges directing their feelings. I would rather have infinite garlic bread than have a "lifetime" of a vampire's love. That's said, I would prefer infinitely replenished garlic bread over a large supply of garlic bread that never spoils. That sort of magic required to make never spoiling garlic bread is unsettling, and where would you put that much garlic bread?
