A question to my fellow Skinks, Starpriests, Starseers, Oracles, Priest, Chiefs (and all Slann and Saurus’ who may wish to comment as well). I shall soon be embarking on my long desired Seraphon army with Start Collecting! Skinks. I would like to ask about your equipment and weapon preferences for skinks? I am thinking of equipping mine with Star-bucklers to boost the save to a +5, the question is which weapons do people find work best?
I think most people will tell you boltspitters and starbucklers. Thats what I usually take. Some people recommend the boltspitters with clubs to make them better in melee. Since I'm generally trying my best not to get my skinks into melee I prefer starbuckler to make them last a little longer. But there's a good argument for clubs too since you can get them hitting on 3s and wounding on 4s with all out attack. Just have to be extra careful because they die to a stiff breeze. If you put them in melee just make sure whatever you're fighting dies before it can hit you back. Many units in the game will blow up a unit of skinks in one turn of combat. They lose all their damage capability pretty quick once they start dying.
For a 10 Skink Screen Star-bucklers and boltspitters is the place to be. If you realy go into FOS there is a place for boltspitters and clubs but in general its alsways Star-bucklers and boltspitters. In general the range of boltspitters make them just so mutch better as spears, so dont think about it
