    Bretonnians back from the (un)dead!

Excellent use of some classic models, I loved putting mine together :D

Your drybrushing and glazing work on those pretzels is really top notch, as is your use of water effects for the bier. Such a realistic paint scheme, makes them look like the real thing! :artist::artist:;)

...oh and great job on the World Eaters too :joyful:

    Thanks all. :)

Here's all the pictures I took from the start to end of Dec.

Starting with the Red Gobbo on Bounca the model which I converted (inspired by Dickens) into Da Three Gitz of Squigmas Past, Present, and Futur:

    DSC_0900.jpg

Thrafnir the Sabre/Frost Tusk from the Hrothgorn's Mantrappers Warband. I decided to go for more a cream sabretooth lion pelt:

    And continued...

Christmas Day I convinced the family to take part in a race...The Doomwheel was quickly exchanged for a squig as it was too big for the course:

    DSC_0915.jpg

    DSC_0919.jpg

I painted up my old old Armoured Skeleton Banner Bearer (I still need to copy and cut out a paper banner for him...) who was one of the very first models I ever bought...And remained unpainted metal until now...

    DSC_0907.jpg DSC_0910.jpg DSC_0912.jpg

Finally built up the courage to finish Tadeus the Purifier...I think i'm getting a little better at text. :p

Shame they don't seem to be usable in Age of Sigmar anymore...

Still, when I get round to him, you'll probably enjoy the banner bearer I was using for the classic thunderers, he's one of the old Marauder Minis Dwarf Banner Bearer with Gryphon banner head.

I modified the rules from the Red Gobbo freebie magazine.
Each player turn was a D6 to consult the mayhem table (which could range from no effect, losing a movement dice, having to end your move as close to the edge as possible, getting a re-roll, getting a bonus to bite attacks, or getting two moves.) The player then rolls two D6 and picks the highest result, if it's a double they add the two together. If you end up on top of or within an inch of another racer you can attack them, which is a D6 roll off, if you win you take their place and move them behind you (which can result in a chain.)

Dad on the Dreadblade Harrow came in first, the brother in law on the Frostsabre came in second, me on the Gobbo came third, sister on the Gryph-Hound fourth, and mother on the squig replacing Doomwheel last. Was actually a very close race...with Mario Kart music throughout.

After a long long time...here's some long overdue progress pics.

    Pious Vorne:

I had a bit of fun with this model with the classic hazard stripes I had explored previously with my Primaris marine as well as attempting to do better flame effects. She's nothing too complicated but I like how she came out.

    Frodo Baggins:

I need to fix that eye...he actually looks creepy than Elijah Wood did.
I do like how I managed to get the other colours down, especially on such a teeny model.

Next up the model of the month Fire Warrior from January.
I went for one of the minor septs that is more artistically minded...and for some reason have a similar scheme to the Farsight Enclaves...

Terrible flash effects inbound. Here's a couple more classic Dwarfs from the Maruader Mini range. I really like the standard bearer, as the standard figurehead is a fully sculpted gryphon with a surprising amount of detail for a part that small.

And finally one of my earliest models repainted.

I've had this Necromancer since around 2000/2001 and my original paintjob (which I had been proud of) was very under par. However, I decided to try and improve on what past me tried to do. For example, the necromancer orginally had blue eyes that were more splodges than anything, with the repaint I went full glow effects. The skull with flame was me experimenting with the skull base sprue and a little bit of greenstuff sculpting. I'm a little suprised it actually looks a bit like flames.

When you see someone post a pic of a model you also own:

I have that model plus Josef Bugman, 9 of his Rangers, an old Thane/Lord and 10 Marauder Hammerers that made up some of my very first Dwarf models. An uncle of mine gave them to me, fully-painted, after he and his son stopped playing Fantasy and he focused entirely on his (now huge) Space Marine army for 40K, and they formed the foundation of my Dwarf collection alongside a box of the late 6th Edition Dwarf Warriors and later the Battle for Skull Pass contents.

You've done a great job on your version of the standard bearer, and I agree the eagle banner top is excellently designed, especially given the model's made of metal.
