Took some pictures of the whole heavy intercessor squad together. Heraldry from left to right: Blood Angels (sergeant), Black Templars, Sons of Medusa, the Koi, and the Yellowjackets Very happy with how these heavy-set gentlemen have turned out! Spoiler
Awesome squad together! I like how you have managed to make them look uniform in color with clear distinction of there heraldry Grrr, Imrahil
WIP of my nearly-complete Phobos Lieutenant: Mantis Warriors chapter of course I haven't painted much this last week, mostly because I was putting together my Watch Master! He is based on the newly released Helbrecht kit, along with plenty of other bits to include the actual watch master kit. Spoiler: Watch Master Conversion Here are a few pics from earlier stages in his construction, to include his base options depicting multiple defeated xenos!
This conversion is so very awesome! I can't stretch enough how much I love this one Good to see you aren't modest about it either: Grrr, Imrahil
I finished my phobos lieutenant, Yasuke of the Mantis Warriors: His arms are magnetized for maximum posibility and can swap in his by-the-rules bolt carbine. Mantis Warriors heraldry: Spoiler: pics Deathwatch symbol, this one is a 3D printed bit. Works fine for the arms I don't intend to use much so I can keep the GW ones in reserve. His backpack shield is also 3D printed! Really love how this guy turned out, halfway between Ninja Turtles and Blade. Totally inspired by Krakendoomcool's EXCELLENT Bladeguard conversion. Have a very Ninja Weekend!
My reiver squad is in full swing, done with base coats and washes, moving onto highlights and details. They have plenty of magnetization options enabling me to swap between bolt pistol and knife, bolt carbine, and a few grapnel launchers. Should be obvious to any space marine fans what chapter this guy originates from!
Thanks! Also got a WIP shot of my Watch Master. Lots of washes and painting to do, but he is looking good so far! Was hoping for a corroded bronze look for the golden bits, not super happy with them so far. My original plan was to make the robed servants orange like my Ryza Admech army, but in the time since I have painted on the orange I dont think it looks that good so I may swap it for a dull green instead.
Got three Reivers painted up, first half of the squad: Sergeant Oktor of the Raptors chapter: Raptors chapter heraldry: Brother Grigoriu of the Angels Encarmine: His scars were added on account of me being unable to paint his left eye lens on straight Angels Encarmine Heraldry: Both the Raptors chapter and the Angels Encarmine chapter symbols were added using decal transfers! Third reiver complete is Brother Hanzo of the Koi: Named for Hattori Hanzo, ninja in the service of Tokugawa Ieyasu during the Sengoku Period of Medieval Japan. Koi chapter heraldy: Another poor excuse for Japanese lettering, much less space to work with than the previous marine I did for this chapter. The last two marines each are fully magnetized for either use of bolt carbines... ...or grapnel launchers!
Moar Reivers! Only finished one today, and he is my favorite of the squad so far and likely will not be dethroned due to his similarity to a certain mutant-superhero I have been a fan of since childhood. Brother Baldric of the Space Wolves: Spoiler With combat knife and bolt pistol: Bolt Carbine: Space Wolf heraldry, Blackmanes Great Company that I printed out myself! Exceptionally happy with how he turned out. His head is an old bit from a 13th Company box of Stormclaws I bought some time ago when I was building my Black Templars at the start of this thread. I used all the chainswords and cool weapons, but the space wolf heads and other pieces have been languishing until I had a reason to put them to use in my Deathwatch project! Brother Baldric has magnetized arms and can swap out his pistol and knife with a bolt carbine. Hope to give him some lightning claws in the future too
Finished my last two reivers yesterday, making them the last two models I finished in 2021. Brother Shibata of the Emperor's Shadows: Emperor's Shadows Heraldry: Lastly Brother Ratanui of the Carcharadons/Space Sharks: Had tons of fun figuring out how to make Maori tatoos and markings! Space Shark heraldry: Spoiler: Space Shark marine pics Brother Ratanui also has a few weapons options, including his bolt carbine: ...and his grapnel launcher:
A few pictures of the whole reiver squad: Heraldry left to right: Raptors chapter, Space Wolves, Angels Encarmine, Koi chapter, Space Sharks, and the Emperor's Shadows Spoiler: weapons option pics Grapnel launchers: Bolt Carbines: and Bolt Pistol and Combat Knives: Plenty of options for Kill Team!
Last post for me today, here is everything I painted in 2021! Comes out to a total of 93 models and pieces of terrain according to the list I have been keeping. Nowhere near as much as last year as things got busy, plus I took a lot more time on every individual space marine than I ever did on the mass of Samurai I churned out last year! Highlights for me this year were the two Blitz Bowl teams I completed along with a huge amount of Deathwatch marines, current progress also pictured below: Spoiler: heraldry Because I like heraldry, here are some photos of some of the pairs of marines from the same chapter sprinkled throughout the force. Sons of Medusa (transfers): Yellowjackets (all custom transfers): Space Wolf/Space Wolf Adjacent (with a custom transfer and a pre-sculpted detail): Koi Chapter (my attempt at painting japanese characters ): And a duo of Black Templars whose main picture turned out blurry, so here is their heraldry! (one freehand, the other a pre-sculpted detail):
Great work this year mate! That's an impressive Deathwatch force now. I love the red face mask on Brother Shibata. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with this year
Awsome work, mate I have so much love for your Deathwatch army. For the creativity in converting as well as the paintjob on all of them and above all the modularity with the magnetized arms Looking out to your work in 2022 Grrr, Imrahil
Thanks! Looking forward to many projects this year. Still working on my Watch Master but got distracted with the new box of aggressors that showed up to complete my Indomitor Kill Team. The third one will become a captain once his new head bit shows up: With the arrival of this kit I was also able to cast a few power fists! Super excited to add a few more options to my squad leaders and characters
Got my head and weapons options for my gravis captain sorted out, just waiting on his chainsword to convert up next. Bolter/powersword variant: Also converted up my new vindicator tank! Always wanted one of these ever since I was much younger in the hobby, back when I couldn't afford much more than a box of infantry at a time and vehicles were too expensive . Converted up a quad-las frontal gun too:
