Alright! After a few years of playing and loving AoS, I've finally worked up the courage to start painting! Here's my very first test Skink! I learned a lot from just this one model. I was trying to follow the Contrast Skinks official guide on YouTube, but I believe I didn't wait long enough to put the darker color on the back. I also think I prefer just one thick coat of the Aethermatic Blue rather than two. I like the stronger light and dark color contrast. But speaking of Contrast... I'm so happy I decided to go with Contrast paints for my Lizardmen! They really do look amazing and the built-in wash effect really works great for these models. I expect I will be posting more in the very near future!
This is one of 10 Skinks I got from eBay and they were already primed White. I used Aethermatic Blue for the base, and Terradon Turquoise for the scales. Going to paint another one tonight!
Here's a Red-Crested Skink Alpha I did today. I'm already happier with the way this guy turned out than the last one. It's crazy how much detail there can be even on such a small model, lol!
I know they're not exactly the same, but Raven Twin Miniatures has some Kroxigors inspired by the Woogity ones: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-caiman-unit-131680
Thank you, I think this is what I'm going to have to go for. Now I need to decided whether it's worth getting my own 3D printer...
First, the units are looking good @Kilvakar. I'm rather envious of the Woogity Krox too. The "Kroxigor" from Last Sword Miniatures look kind of similar. https://lastsword.com/en/producto/lizarmen-caimansreg/
