What is your favourite item or thing that has improved your hobby quality of life? It could be anything! A favourite paint brush? Specific paints? A 3D printer? Changing to a different ruleset? Convincing a partner or friend to play so you have a ready opponent? (one can dream!) Currently mine is Army Painter's Goblin Green colour primer - it has been so useful speeding up my painting and helping get through my backlog of minis. Looking forward to hearing everyone else's and getting some inspiration!
I bought one of these about 10 years ago and love it. Such a helpful tool. Bought it when I was living in the UK and took it with me on my return to Oz. Mine only does the cool white light though. It also has a flip cover for the magnifier.
I think mine will be convincing my brother to start playing MESBG with me, and him starting his own warband. This takes the hours of painting models to good use on the tabletop. Grrr, Imrarhil
Great ideas so far! Good lighting is very sensible; I'm just about managing with an old desk lamp but I'm being quite easy with my painting quality as my main aim is to get through my backlog of models! Oh man, I remember playing warbands with the Return of the King rules with my brother years ago. We very cheekily played extra battles against each other outside of our club to get those all important upgrades!
The best line of acrylic metal paints I have ever tried. Great coverage, silky smooth with no streaks and an amazing thin consistency.
Decided to simply replace the bulb on my old desk lamp with a 6000K one - what a difference! I can see colours I didn't know my models had!
Seraphim Sepia and Ushabti Bone: Loooong long ago, I really struggled with painting bone and all my efforts ended up looking really bad. Thanks to these two paints i've finally been able to paint a bone colour that I can be proud of. Having a plan: Every month for about a year now i've been setting a painting vows list, whilst I haven't fully completed one yet, i've managed a lot more painting and motivation than ever before.
