So, I'm entering a small painting competition with a fairly short rulesetting : Duel
We basically have to make a duel. Not real size restriction or anything.

My idea is repainting and converting my Slann to be casting "Awakening of the Woods" while being buffed by the Throne of Vines spell. I will have him resting on a throne with a lot of vines sculpted on em and all. Maybe even some kind of maneating plant. I want to put up his hand like he is casting. On the other side of the diorama I will use one or two trees from "Citadel Wood" set and model them like they are tearing apart a Chaos Warrior, or Demon I'm not sure yet. I'll try sculpting agonised or angry faces or something on the trees.

What do you guys think about the idea? I've got a couple more but ive been wanting to redo my Slann for a while now :p I'm also planning to be able to take out the Slann and use him for battles.

Any tips on making a fairly large base? I reckon I would need something at least 6 inch long and 3 inch wide. Anything is appreciated

    Thanks!

Sounds great make sure you take your tim and remember to buy your greenstuff and make your plan before you start hacking £25 models to pieces.

the 4x12, 5x5, or the 7x7 would be big enough....
(you get the idea, you can probaly find something similar localy.)

also you are probaly going to want a roll of wire to make all of those trees...

yeah the trees might be a pain :p
But I did order the Citadel Wood set. I think I will make em more jungle-like. One of em is definately tearing a demon up :p

you could make the throne of vines by making vines spin around a carnivorius plant wich the slann could be sitting on. good luck with the model post lots of pics.

I should be getting my Citadel Wood set tomorrow. Ill check the trees out firs tbefore making a throne. Perhaps i can use one of the trees and use it as a solid base for the slann to rest on. And to sculpt the vines around. I was also thinking of putting a corpse/skeleton entangled in the vines. I'll sculpt some leaves or ferns aswell, maybe some flesh eating plant :p
