Well I guess it's obvious, gonna cast power-up version of Savage Beast to power up the scar vets so they have 8 attacks WS5 S8 each, while buffing saurus with Wildform. The Skrox ar nice flankers and I want to use a steg too and with Impact Hits, THunderstomp and normal attacks he seems worth it.

So what do you think, anything can be changed(though keep it in a budget), but I'm gonna keep Lore of Beasts, so any idea's. Also need advice on good tactics to use, so let the comments flow :D

Thanks for commenting, no I didn't test it yet, but my calculations look good, the mathhammer is in my favor, 2 of those vets with Savage Beast will kill 8.88 elves. After the coming week I got a week vacation, I'll then buy the steg and try this list out, I'll let you know how it went, I think that with Feedback+Bane Head combo I'll be able to kill his archmage so I can get Savage Beast off without it getting dispelled.

If you drop 2 saurus from each unit you can still manage a 5X6 or 6X5 frontage with your saurus units and squeeze out 48 more points to play with. the 2 mr resistance talisman will let your slaan have a 2+ ward vs any magic missiles your army may encounter.

If you're not running Life, I'd never leave home without Cupped Hands, the feedback scroll/bane head combo is very nice, especially against any elves using power scroll and throwing handfuls of dice at a big spell, but you're gonna want that miscast protection on your slann, hes just worth too much, and if he dies you're whole strategy is boned.

I was thinking of the idea to drop 2 saurus of each unit for a unit of 10ranked skinks to aid the steg.
Place the skinks in front of the steg, they get charged, they flee, now the steg charges the enemy, this would probably work better with a normal steg since he'll be able to fire his giant bow over the skinks.

Actually my friends and I decided to forbid the power scrolll in friendly games, but back to your quote, I always use the cupped hands, but now the Feedback Scroll+Bane Head is too vital to my tactics, and most miscasts only inflict 1 wound that's not too bad, the worst thing is he either blows up(small chance) or he loses some Wizard Levels, I might take a look at Soul of Stone

Okay the tactics, I´ll first tell you my deployment tactic and then a tactic to help the steg, tell me if it´s good.

Deployment: I'll deploy in a a formation wich looks like a quarter of a circle placed against one side, to make it impossible for him to flank me and he won't beat me in a fight to the front, his only way is break through somewhere, I'll first deploy the sallies and then the rest, when deploying the sallies he still doesn't know I'm gonna place everything there, so he might place something in a place where it will be useless to him.
This will be how the formation will look when deploying on the left side from left to right: Saurus, Sallie, Saurus, Sallie, Skrox, Steg(with sacrificial skinks in front of him), the slann will deploy behind saurus.

Stegadon Tactic: Ok I'm assuming I'm facing a Tiranoc Chariot/Elven Cavalry here, so it will be like this:
I place the sacrificial skinks 8" in front of him and the steg 22" away, he charges the skinks, they flee, he probably catches them, his charge will be between 11"and 21", meaning he will be between 1" and 11" away of the stegadon who will charge him. I could try this with the skrox unit too, but then need to find points to get that xtra skink unit. This tactic is nice, because his chariots(wich he will use, he likes them) are useless when they don't charge, and his cavalry is way less without the charge AND my steg gets Impact Hits.
This can be used against chariots and cavalry of other races, but you need to adjust your distance to his maximum charge range, i.e. he has M7 so you need to put your steg 20"away so he can't overrun in your steg.

So what do you think, I know my deployment description is pretty vague, but I'm dutch :D

ohhhh yeah! i am dutch to!!!! :meh:

    so lets get to bussiness:
great thinkig with the skinks, i didn't think about using them in such a way yet ;P

I'll deploy in a a formation wich looks like a quarter of a circle placed against one side, wil you still move up because it will be some strange moving that way....

well i don't got much to say left i'm verry curious what the outcome will be.

ohhh before i forget, personaly i would put it like saurus, sallie, sallie, saurus but just se what you like the best ;P

Dont see how it would be especially good in these situations. The BRB clearly state that you use the feedback scroll instead of an attempt at dispelling. Therefor you can not use it when the opponent rolls an irresistible force since no dispel attempts are allowed.

@Ancient: I'll move up, it's not gonna be thath hard, just need to practice a little.
I'm not gonna deploy Saurus-Sallie-Sallie-Suaurus, becuase then he has enough room to squeeze a chariot or perhaps even cavalry through there and hte sallie's will then die and he will have a chariot behind my lines, not good.

@rammramm: Never thought of it that way, but I think I'm allowed, perhaps it's in the FAQ, or perhaps someone else has a good reasoning, can't think of a good argument right now.

@ Ancient: In the eastern part

@Everyone here: My deployment looks more like 1/8 of a circle, placed against one side, most people will still be confused, but this is the best I can say, it's like a curved line, really curved line, sorry it's the best I can say, anyone got an idea how i can lose 50 points for a sacrificial skink unit without damaging my strategy?
