    I have been perusing various ancient and medieval monster legends. I ran across this.

    Baobhan Sith are malevolent spirits from Scottish folklore (though variants can also be found in Irish mythology),

    I doubt George Lucas conjured the name "Sith" himself. I'm not sure whether to be disappointed or relieved the Star Wars universe has no sexy vampire aliens in it, at least in the mainstream parts of the Star Wars universe. Given how much of the Star Wars is outside my purview, I'm sure it exists somewhere.

    They sound like nothing more than a cheesy Gaelic interpretation of the Sirens.

    Regardless, in Star Wars we have the Sith Purebloods instead, which are significantly less cheesy and more interesting.
