need to get 1500 points painted in 2 weeks, arrggghhh

as topic suggests i have entered a new campaign that involves us starting with a fully painted 1500 points army and adding 250 points a month, both as a nicve campaing and a way of motivating us to paint. Here is my first completed unit i have recently returned to the hobby after 13 years away and was 11 when i last painted so im not to a great standard yet but hope with practice i can get better. Any feedback would be great. I posted a pic of a few of these skinks when was trying to decide on a theme so you may recognise the colour scheme.

For speed painting I wold say that you did an awesome job.

 

cheers mate, i painted the first skink probably 2 months ago but actual time spent on the unit is probably around 3 or 4 hours. not sure if thats fast or not. Got my list sorted for the 1500 points and i need to paint another 40 saurus, slann 16 temple guard and a salamander & crew in 10 days. I will use this thread to keep an update of what i have done. should help keep me motivated too

 

I agree with n810. A swell job for fast painting! Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing if you will able to reach your goal in time ;-)

 

got my salamander & 4 crew done this morning, back to work tommorow so progress going to be tough.

The salamander looks pretty good xisor. What's next on the list?

 

i will try and get some saurus done next but progress will be slower now im back at work.

You painted really nice. The colour , purple, is some sort of special. I couldn't do this, really. That quick and also that nice. You did a great job.

So how goes the Saurus,
did you pick out some colors for them yet ?

 

saurus are going to be a lighter shade of purple with pale purple scales, i like the yellow on the skinks as it makes them look poisonous but my saurus will have a much simpler colour scheme.

I believe the rough translation would be "Let's all support Xisor because he needs motivation to get that army done in 2 weeks, which is insane! So don't post here, but in his thread and lets support him!"


Throw in a random F*CK Yeah!...and I think that might about sum it up.

thanks for the support, really struggling this week have had to do a lot of overtime at work and havent got much done at all, i have made a start on 40 saurus and they are all purple and a few of them have other bits of weapons and things painted. i dont want to be spamming these forums so i will post on the original thread from now on. i do appreciate the encouragement though

 

I get it now... Merging with Xisor's thread. we don't need a second one on the same thing.

 

ok 8 days gone and i have finished my first unit of saurus to go alongside the skrox and salamander i did last week. As always any feedback would be most welcome. got this unit done from start to finish in around 5 hours as before i intend to go back and sort the bases at a later date.
