Warning: For any Vegans/ppl who dont like meat pictures: Meat is pictured in thread, very bottom. Yesterday I had a lot of school work and a combination of a migraine, tension headache & possible new found allergies. It wasn't fun. I however got what I needed to get done yesterday for school and I even got a little bit of painting done on my small breaks before ultimately passing the F out heavily drugged and after a hot shower around 11am EST. I hope that combo of head pain doesn't happen again. As for the painting, I got a little but done on my Temple Thalor Stoneguard. Primarily some metallics, line work, some tassels on one, and some banner work. Going to work on them more today now that my head is back to mostly normal. Also used my new smoker from my parents yesterday, that was exciting! Country style pork ribs (a cut of the pork shoulder/butt - make sure it isnt loin if you buy it pre packaged and dont cut it yourself/get it fresh cut from the butcher/behind the counter)! For a first time using this smoker they came out real well, just need a few adjustments. Forgot to take an after picture, but snagged a picture of my pork rice bowl I made with the left overs. Delicious.
Most of you know of my homebrew race, the Hathorians. For anyone new, I began working on them since the beginning of the Lumineth as a sort of a side project for my Alarith Temple, this project quickly gained traction. It is now much bigger than I imagined it would be - model wise, lorewise, and narrative playwise. I have just been very happy with not just my own progress with the faction but also the communities support and enthusiasm, so thank you for that! With that said, I wanted to share the next unit for the Hathorians line up, and their first cav unit - the Hathorian Pheres - mighty Yak/Ox Centaurs that ride into battle while shooting their bows before crushing foes under hooves & hammer and finishing them with their spear if need be. Still a lot of work, including greenstuff work (a lot of fur work), and modifying the spear and axe some. Otherwise, super pleased with this new unit/kitbash for my homebrew!
Updated Mock Up Added shield shoulder pads, an arrow in what was the axe hand, and a new spear tip to look more Hathorian/Lumineth. Still need to cover/shave a bunch of chaos stuff off, which I probably should have done first - lessons learned.
This is a crazy good model! The body armor fits spot on it seems Great job! Looking forward to the greenstuff phase Grrr, Imrahil
You do not stop creating, do you? (I am not complaining at all, just an observation ) I spotted the follow up of this model on Instagram Keep up the great work and creativity! Grrr, Imrahil
Thank you! Although, no ghorgon mini here! That is the new Centurion Marshal with a bullgor head! They do look super similar though
The greenstuff phase is definitely going to be a pain haha! But looking forward to it! I do love how the armor looks for sure!
Lol I dont, its true. A blessing and a curse. Some people paint other things when they need a break from a model - I build more haha. But seriously, for me, there is really no greater joy in the hobby than seeing a kitbash come to life and it looks how or rather close to how I imagined it - and this is fairly spot on. Thank you!
So, I've gotten a new wind for building up my Hathorians a few more things - but first some new info! The Hathorians, which I've been working on for 2 years now this October (crazy to think, especially with how little i feel ive accomplished lol)! And with that I am expanding the lore a bit and giving the Hathorians a new Faction name: the Adherents of Haset I feel this new name change of the overall faction will help capture the faction better as the faction now doesn't just encompass Hathorians but also Lumineth and other races that have flocked to Haset’s banner. More to come about this but wanted to share this big change As for the new units? Ive created my first Cav units and the last Adherents of Haset monster / Lumineth Incarnate. The Monster / Incarnate is what will be a giant flying Yak and I am giving them a rider with a very long stick. The Cav are on converted Mournfang to look more Coo like and I love em lol. I still need to get updated photos but really excited! Need to work on some lore too, but here is a little blurb: The Adherents of Haset is a coalition within Hysh consisting of many races that worship and revere the Primordial Hyshian Goddess Haset. Many of the races resmble the wild beasts of the land, though their intellect has risen them above their beastly bretheren - Yak, Bush-Tailed Antelope, Birds of Prey, and others. It is not only these athropomorphic races that make up the armies and population under Haset, Lumineth also have joined - those whom disowend the Twin Gods during the Spirefall; even now in the current age Lumineth flock to the Hathorian banner. Brought together by the common fate of near destruction or loss of faith in the Gods that swore to protect them, the many races under the banner of Haset fight to stave off extinction in this new age. Hope you all are doing well let me know what you think and any other thoughts!
Beginning some muscle tone and greenstuff over the miliput now - next is a lot of fur! Tbis is my first time Attempting muscle tone, so we'll see how it goes but even after covered with fur I think itll add something to the model That glob on the shoulder has been blended in lol
I appreciate it man, I love the direction they're going. They almost feel like an Ind/Himalayan based High Elf army almost lol
Waiting on this sessions of greenstuff work to cure, but pretty happy thus far! Kept accidentally flattening done sections so fixed as best i could and decided to stop for now More to come! C&C always welcome - though maybe hard to see from this lol
