Foamboard base, the water is plasticard/styrene sheets with foamboard offcuts and filler used to make the banks. Then textured with sand, embellished with rocks and bits, painted with a mix of GW, P3 and Army painter paints and then applied static grass and model train reeds/cattails to finish off.
So today I've got something that is currently on pause. A Chaos War Mammoth with (yet to be built) Warshrine converted from a LOTR Mumakil. I wanted to give the impression that it's a maltreated creature, perhaps an older individual, so I sculpted the fur to look matted down, with some missing patches. A couple boils poke through the fur on it's rump and I sculpted greenstuff to look like the skin and then carved 8 pointed stars into those patches. I then painted those up too look raw and bloody. I wrapped jeweler's chain around the legs and glued shields on as well as glued lengths of it down the sides with skull trophies attached. The base was made from 4 chariot bases glued together via their long sides.
Another terrain piece today. This one is a Skaven themed piece I made from scraps of other projects as a gift for a friend who plays/played Skaven.
I cam tell you right now, that I wouldn't want to meet him at battlefield without wearing safety brown underpants.
So today I've got some pics of my 6th edition carnosaur, minus scar vet rider, as he is undergoing a soak in isopropyl. I actually painted the carnosaur itself around 3 years ago using the cheap acrylic paints you can get from Michael's or even Wal Mart. I only recently added some Blood For the Blood God to the mouth and claws. I also am posting some more scenery including a bone pile and 2 warpstone meteors for use as objectives.
That is a very good looking model, still love that Carnosaur a lot. Those Meteor piece are an awesome idea, both as objective or piece of terrain in general! (I might use this idea, if you don't mind ) Grrr, !mrahil
Here's the mini I use as my Scar Vet BSB. To make it stand out as such, I've removed all the feathers and decorative spikes from my standards for my rank n' file Saurus units.
Just a piece of scenery today and a sorceress from Reaper miniatures' Pathfinder line that I painted up and gave as a gift.
