Hello all. I am returning to the hobby after some time away. I shall be starting with the Starblood stalkers in preparation for the new chameleon skinks for warcry. I am basing my chameleon skinks off the panther chameleon, below is the start of my tester model. I apologise for the poor image. Once it’s completed I will update the thread with a proper image. This test model is a bit iffy so far theres some bits that I like but im unsure on the white stripe, I think it makes it look a bit messy. happy to receive any feedback.
Welcome along! Good start on the Chameleon skink, I love the colors, the speckles make for good scaly skin. Interested to see this one completed. Do you have more Lizardmen from back in the days or did you collect/paint/play other factions? Have a nice stay in our Jungle. Grrr, !mrahil
Welcome to Lustria! I like the colour scheme on your Chameleon skink. Looking forward to seeing more of your painting.
Thanks all! Its very kind and motivating. I have been inspired by alot of the models painted here so ive been trying new techniques. I think ill be stripping and trying other schemes on the chameleon until I find a more streamlined method that fits between detail and easy to do for my warcry team and then larger projects. Im still getting back into things but ill post som photos of what i have done in the past, both seraphon and other armies.
Those are greatly painted model, I love the clean job on the SCE and I absolutely adore that Leviadon Impressive to say the least And of course a very good looking Skink army Keep up the great work! Grrr, !mrahil
Thank you!! I won competitons with the leviadon and skink start collecting, they are definitely the highlights of my painting journey. Hopefully I can reach those heights again. I’ll definitely been giving Kroak a good try one day. I have also finished my tester chameleon after re trying with a new colour scheme. I am happy with this one and it is not too hard to replicate for the warcry stuff.
Wow, I can see why! That looks awesome, very nice blending of the greens. More of a traditional look. Grrr, !mrahil
Thank you so much! Yes I felt conflicted on the red and real scheme so i decided whilst Im getting back into things ill try not to experiment with new methods for a little while haha.
It has been a few days but my warcry chameleon skinks are now done! ive tried to find a balance between detail and efficiency. Let me know what you all think
Thy look amazing, a great blend of greens and a sufficient amount of detail! Was the new box of Warcry with Chameleons already on sale? They look great together. Grrr, !mrahil
I must apologise for my absence from these forums. I went down with covid for weeks and could not paint. I haven’t painted anymore seraphon, I did paint sone sundered fate terrain but I need to get sone photos. Ive done a few test models however for 40k. I did a Leagues of votann guy and a Necron (Still WIP as i didnt have the right paint for the glow) ill post them below I am also going to be trying some death guard I had lying around so stay tuned!
Its been a while guys but I have indeed been busy. Ive painted 11 Votann About 21ish necrons And a few test models for slaves to darkness. ill post some photos below. ive been holding off on seraphon due to impending releases however I think ill cave on a skinks start collecting as its mostly recent models and skinks hold up. Im thinking of painting my skinks greeny blue with burgendy scales. However theres lots of colour coherency to consider with other units and bigger beasties.
So I finally decided on a colour for my skinks at least. I have used the rest of my starblood stalkers as tester model.
Nice work on the Necrons and Space-dwarfs! And the skink looks good too, I like the bits of purple you did on his back scales. Good work on the tiny eyes too.
