After letting the troglodon sitting on my desk for more than ten months, I finally found the courage to paint it. This is the largest model and painting project I've ever tackle with. Just the first step for the whole model, I still got the skink oracle and basing to work on. I will update new photos after I've finished the whole thing. I spent some time deciding the color theme, I spent a lot more time putting down all the different layers of color on the scales. I can say that I am super happy how it turned out looking!
This looks amazing, man! I love how the scales look like the are shimmering like fish scales do. Great job! (Just to be sure: You know he has a bigger size base, right?) Keep up the great work! Grrr, !mrahil
Thank you! The actual base is currently ready for basing, the smaller base was just for me to paint easier without it falling off from my painting handle.
that's eye-catching for sure! the visual effect is solid, the glittering scales really turn it into a living creature.
Nice work on your troglodon, he has a very translucent quality to his scales... it might sound silly but he reminds me of those puddles of gasoline you see in parking lots sometimes ! Really astounding how you were able to bring this effect to life, it is truly stunning
Updating the painted skink oracle, this was kit-bashed with oracle, skink runner from blood bowl team and Kixi-Taka from starblood stalkers.
Oh my god this is absolutely stunning. I can't even imagine how much it took you to paint this beautiful beast. It turned out sooo well though, it was totally worth it! The skink is very beautiful too, you're really talented!!
The pictures aren't great, but here's a Trog I painted up for a local competition. I was two days over the deadline, but I'll put it in next time!
This thing is absolutely sick. I'm not even sure how you get that fine of detail on the scales. Physics defying! You've made the Old Ones proud.
Updated with basing results, super happy about the result! The trog was finally sanding on a proper basing, with magnets! Also I finally setup an instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/rozenminis/ Please come and see more of my painting progress! As usual, comments and suggestions are most welcome!
