Got a slew of infinity models finally covered in varnish and based! Hassassin Fiday and a Barid Hacker: Some of my favorite models I have painted so far, love how my color scheme is working on these two. Spoiler: Fiday and Barid Remote drones, one with a missile launcher and the other a heavy machine gun: The sneaky camoflaged hacker, the Al Hawwa: Spoiler: Al Hawwa Some irregular troopers known as Daylami: These were hard to paint, and I am not entirely happy with how the faces turned out Spoiler: daylami The whole batch! I have enough complete that I can now play a few different Code One forces (the infinity "starter" game).
WIP for two nearly complete infinity models, an Al Fasid (the big guy with the missile launcher) and an Asawira, which is a model I decided to convert from another Haqqislam model as the "correct" model does not look as cool in my opinion.
Great work on all of the above! I love the gradient highlights on the green, very smooth. Keep up the great work! Grrr, !mrahil
Thanks! The green armor is a small departure for this army, as the rest of them seem to have a lot more sandy brown colors. Went ahead and finished them yesterday after all: Spoiler Asawira with spitfire: Spoiler: Asawira This model is actually a Haqqislam Janissary converted with a different gun and an arm repose. Al Fasid with heavy missile launcher and posing with his submachine gun: Spoiler: Al Fasid
They have been on my painting desk for almost the entire year, but I finally finished two more skywing infiltrators: Fun model from Reaper Bones, glad his compatriots are also done!
New project... some Star Wars Legion! I have been eyeing this miniature for a while, and between the inspiration I have gotten from @Explodingzeb and some youtube videos I decided to go ahead and paint this speeder up! It's 95% done, I have to finish the base. Also noticed that my fingerprints are visible in the windshield when I attempted to dirty it up, so I went ahead and fixed that too
I'm glad I could be of some use . This looks great so far! Nice and grimy, I'm looking forward to seeing it based up. Have you got any more SWL models or did you just pick up this kit because its cool?
Thanks! I definitely picked the speeder up because it was cool, but since then bought a few more that are future projects in the works. I am thinking of starting a small rebels army, maybe some Mandalorians, and the new Din Djarin model that just came out. I got a few 3D printed models off of etsy to add to the group too.
Finished up the X-34 landspeeder's base yesterday finally, though I realize I need to figure out a different setup to take pictures of this mini, give it more of a "star wars" desert background. Spoiler Both riders on the back are magnetized!
On the infinity front I finished another Hassassin model, the grim Ayyar with his skull mask and hood. Spoiler: ayyar I am also having fun painting up this slight-conversion of another Infinity model, this one from the Nomads faction. The original mini is known as Wolfgang Amadeus Wolff, but I think the inspiration for this conversion should be pretty obvious Spoiler: sculpting Wolverine hair
Wolverine aka Logan aka Wolfgang Amadeus Wolff from the Infinity Nomads line is complete I need to take some better pictures but for now here he is! Spoiler
Next member of the X-Men on the painting desk: Also have a few Zhayedan veterans (and a few other assorted Haqqislam models) force in progress, super excited for these guys!
Doctor Rouhani of the Ramah Task Force is now complete: Spoiler I added the armband to this mini, which allowed me to paint a little medical-moon designator and set him apart as a doctor! Loved how this model turned out, I painted him with the same basic scheme as my previous Zhayedan trooper.
Finished two more Haqqislamite troopers along with the good doctor: Muhktar Hacker: Spoiler Tuareg Hacker: The Tuaregs are a real-world tribe of Berbers who were known for exporting indigo dye... hence the blue headdress! Spoiler: tuareg pics Along with previously painted tuareg sniper:
Four more Zhayedan veterans are complete! Last infinity models for the year: Missile Launcher and Breaker Shotgun ladies: Spoiler Sniper Rifle and Heavy Machine Gun dudes: Spoiler The breaker-shotgun Zhayedan doubles as a doctor, matching up with Doctor Rouhani!: All five Zhayedan (the first was painted several months ago) along with the good doctor: Very happy with these veterans, I think they are the coolest minis out of the Haqqislam range and nearly all of infinity in general. Happy they are the last minis I have painted this year. I currently have 65 zombies half-painted on my desk for Zombicide... lets see if I finish them by the end of the year (aka one day to go!).
Good evening Lustria! It has been almost a month since I last posted. Turns out having a new baby keeps you busy! I have been meaning to post my finished progress from 2022, so to start with here are the 65 zombies (and the completed set) from Zombicide Black Plague that I completely finished the evening of 31 December 2022 while waiting for the new year to start! Spoiler Aside from the main characters, the zombies were super easy and fast paintjobs. All started from a brown spray-can prime Single coat of base color paints for clothing and bone-color for skin Green wash to make the skin molted zombie-green Brown wash for the clothes Matte Varnish Paint the bases boring grey-stone and sponge on some lighter gray so it isn't so boring. The brute: More than good enough for a board game I think, and they will make great backup minis for Mordheim!!! I also like the idea of making up a Halloween-themed scenario with tons of zombies someday, I intend to use these as filler if I ever am that creative or on time completing a project.
...and here are all the miniatures I painted in 2022! Total painted is 192, including the whopping 65 zombies finished on New Years Eve. Up from last years' 93 minis, but to be fair 2021 was for me the year of the Deathwatch. Still have more Deathwatch I want to complete this year too. In addition to a few more space marine snipers, I also finished the following: Fully playable Necromunda Palanite Enforcer gang Haqqislam force from Corvus Belli's infinity, complete with their desert-bases which I have tried for the first time. Blitz Bowl Bretonnians, from Greebo Games Florentine Knights line of miniatures Drowned Earth the Miniatures Game, from both the Militia and the Firm factions X-34 Landspeeder from Star Wars Legion two Warmachine/Hordes warbeasts from Privateer Press and two Skywing Infiltrators from Reaper Bones and lots of zombies Favorite mini of the year was my Deathwatch Watchmaster Chorazin of the Angels of Vengeance. Close seconds were the Landspeeder, Necromunda Sniper-lady with her orange hair, and my Haqqislam Zhayedan veterans. Necromunda Palanite Enforcers: Deathwatch- lots of snipers and infiltrators this year: Haqqislam from Infinity, mostly Ramah Task Force and Hassassin Bahram: Blitz Bowl Bretonnians!!! Drowned Earth Miniatures game: Also posted these on my instagram of course for those of you who check out minis on that website too (smokefroghobbies)
