I've just painted some skinks for Mordheim, but I'm going to make small WFB army; lots of skinks with sallies, teradons and stegadon to support them. I've tried to place assembled skinks into small ranked units, but this is impossible! Miniatures are sculpted in such dinamic poses; their corpses leaning, heads positioned forward and tails shoot out to rear. I cannot properly place one skink right behind another. I mean guys with hand weapon and shield, and I suppose skinks with javelins will make things even better. How do you resolve such rproblem?
Yeah some models aren't really designed to rank up particularly well... I thought the tails actually fit going under the body of the model behind? Maybe not if you have weapons and shields across their bodies. The only thing you could really try is bending the tails or breaking them and making new curly ones that will fit better. Or just leave small gaps between bases, if you have them on a unit base it shouldn't matter too much.
What about these, got them off eBay and all my skinks fitting nicly on it. This one I just added green stuff until there was enguoh space left to place the Salmandars in. Then add some flock & bits to decorate it. You could get a few of them to place Kroxigors on them This might be better I know it's not a regiment base but it was ideal for what i needed
Blue-dragon: Movement trays for skirmishers I can do myself. My problem is with skink cohorst. I cannot place them in nice, smooth ranks. Thanks Stewart. I've curved tails, so they fit now
