I started assembling the MESBG Witch-King mounted and foot models, trying to keep him modular with the regular Nazgul options, searching for good placement of magnets.

Well we played last night, my fearsome band of Mordor Orcs named Grishnakhs Grots vs The Horse lords (without horses :p), Rohan Sir Robins Brave Bunch.
It was a victory for the mighty forces of Mordor! However a bittersweet one due to my wife's injury roll...
    RIP
    [IMG]

One game and she died. I was happy about my work and she died after one game after a perfect double 1 roll :argh::hilarious:
The foot unit isn't so bad but the mounted option for both the Guard and more so the Outrider is a little ridiculous. I'm fortunate to of picked up a few individual Guard on marktplaats over the past year. It's a shame because I really like the Outrider model, maybe if she rolls it I will treat myself

The BC format is super interesting and I look forward to continuing next time. Maybe we could add a 3rd and 4th BC to the mix, a good and evil band respectively but we'll see.

Noooo! It might be time for her twin sister to take up the mantle of shield maiden and swear an oath of vengeance on the band of mordor orcs...

It is fun to rotate with a few bands, and a bit more realistic, "We have been roaming middle earth, but we only seem to run into that one band of jerks. Are they following us?"

BC is my favorite narrative format in any game system! I run Rohan, The Dead of Dunharrow, and Moria. Mostly just Rohan though if I can help it. I have Moria mostly for MESBG; I like playing stompy Balrog and friends (not a competitive list though, literally just the Balrog and as many goblins as I can fit on the board).

Same! I split the box with a buddy a little bit after release (still feels like just over a year ago).

Have to agree with @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl here on this one. Pretty good kitbash fodder even in the Pelennor box itself.

What's more important is not letting it keep you from enjoying the Lords of the Golden Hall even without kitbashing. I honestly just added more gold filigree and embroidery as the riders advanced classes. I just liked keeping the same named model the whole time (and I was poor as .... at the time).

im going to start painting my sanguinary guard and ancient. The blood angels army is almost done!
Also, I just got the 24 model skink kit. Not sure if it's fun, or horror, waiting for me.

I bought into Pungas Northmen kickstarter a while back. After it was finished I waited and waited but hadnt received my two teams (chaos dwarves and silver wings - kislev/slann). They had to ship via Georgia as many countries were taxing anything directly from Russia very heavily. Eventually I thought they should have arrived so contacted Punga. They were great. While they had been shipped they couldn't find any record of them so re-shipped the two teams.
As compensation they also offered me a third team (so I chose their Northmen - Norse). Well they finally arrived yesterday and so I have been prepping minis and putting them together.
I must say I am very impressed with the minis, and with Punga as a company.
Also when the kickstarter was begun the Norse were based on the old GW norse team configuration.
Since GW have renewed the Norse team, Punga ammended their team and supplied it with beer pigs and Valkyries.
The sculpts are fantastic and I am really impressed with this mini manufacturer.

    More minis to paint....

Well, let me see. I obtained the parts to make another Ikit-Class Light Stalk Tank for my Skaviir Dominion totally-not-IG-army, so I'm doodling ideas how to change the design from the Mk I build, I cleaned my desk because it is hard to work on ANYTHING when the desk is a mess... oh, and I bought a secondhand copy of the 8th edition Orcs and Goblins armybook for WFB off of Amazon today, so there's that...

Well yesterday I spent about 3 hours blocking in all the gold trimmings with dryad bark on a single Vanari Dawnrider. Only another 4 to go and then I get to paint the gold :inpain: Also spent time fixing a broken banner, banners suck when they are not broken at the best of times :argh:
Would you still believe me if I said I still had fun doing it all :hilarious:

Took the last opportunity of 2022 to get some progress done on my Russian fleet for Black Seas, as part of a slow build league in my gaming group. Thus I got the rigging done on three brigs and one 5th-Rate for the 400pt milestone.

Thread is fiddly as all hell, as usual. LOL

Last night, I put some more work into my Oathmark dwarves. The second 5 are done, other than the shields.

I dug up the shields of my still almost finished skinks so I might be able to actually finish them before the year ends.

Hey, hey, here's a silly question. Those kits are kind of ... pricey... how BIG are those? I mean, in inches/cm? Keel/Beam/height to top of mast?

From the tip of the bowsprite to the quarterdeck, the brigs are about 3" long, ; The 5th-Rate 4"-5".

As for pricy kits, you're probably looking at the resin named ships. The Master & Commander starter box gives you three plastic 5th-Rates, six plastic Brigs, the rule book, a coffee table battlemat, tokens, thread, and dice (mostly d10, but there's also two d6s and a fabled d3) for just $90CDN before taxes, shipping and handling. That's enough to field a small flotilla worth about 1000pts.

Thus far, I'm only aware of brigs, 5th-rates and 3rd-rates being done in plastic (in fact, individual sprues can be purchased cheaply, likely because Warlord Games understands that historical miniatures can also have a home in museum dioramas). Everything else is in resin and metal however.

So I finished cutting and scraping the chaos stars off the shields of my Nurgle chaos warriors and sculpting pimple-esque symbols of Nurgle on said shields.

I bought a blind box of 50 blisters packs from the days of yore. We will see what turns up.

I also had a whack at an inexpensive orruk brute that to my eye looks closer to the black orcs or yore.

I also built 5 stormcast vindictors
