I have constructed a topical meme. Though he was probably fibbing about eating five dozen eggs a day.
I was on a small plane trying to land on a grass runway in southern Nepal. We had to go around a second time as there was a herd of goats grazing when we came in to land the first time.
Roughly triple now from a year ago. Discount eggs ($1.29 to $3.99), regular eggs ($1.99 to $5.99), and premium free range organic eggs ($3.50 to $9.99). All about three times more than they used to be. At least at the grocery store I work at. I would guestimate that food in general is about 30% more expensive than it used to be. Meat and dairy seem to be hit less hard. Candy, snacks, and seems to be hit a bit more hard. But nothing has skyrocketed like eggs. I had a sadistic day care supervisor who told us this would happen if we swallowed a seed. I stopped eating watermelon until age 7 when my parents corrected the false seed my day care guardian told me.
That explains the memes then. Eggs have gone up in Canada too, but not nearly by such a drastic margin.
