The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

From a certain pov I'm happy.
Even if the horse is dead, it's painful to watch its corpse beaten with maniacal perseverance. If a further beating will finally brings us to the end, then i welcome it.

 

At this point, I feel like i'm a sort of Jocker.
I just want to watch the world burn.

 

At this point I kind of feel bad for the non-Brie people involved. My understanding is that the actresses playing Kamala Kahn and Monica Rambeu are actually nice people and reasonably talented.

More than a few talented actors got their career damage by being involved in Star Wars, and not just the Disney Star Wars Disney movies. Ahmed Best and Hayden Christensen did exactly what they were directed to do.

Everything hinges on the writing. This might be worth a discussion outside this thread because it's not directly related to wokeness. In my opinion good writing can prop up bad actors but good actors cannot prop up bad writing.

Though, off the top of my head, I can only name one movie with good writing and bad acting and that would be Idiocracy.

Kathleen Kennedy pushed this through against the wishes of Bob Iger in a desperate bid to extend her contract and the movies are not likely to happen.

Okay, so American media companies are trying to prune wokeness out and some are doubling down on it.

A lot of them are schizophrenically trying to do both. HBO seems to have pro-woke and anti-woke people among their decision makers. Why else would they cancel Batgirl when it was almost finished but greenlight that Velma series?

I am going to guess that most TV writers fall into three categories.

True artists, woke propagandists, and mercenary opportunists.

True artists want to tell stories and are probably threatened by or at least annoyed with woke BS, but if they are smart, they won't come out at work as being anti-woke if any of their bosses are woke.

Woke propagandists are self explanatory. If they have any sense, they are going to want to tone down their rhetoric if any of the decision makers above them are pruning wokeness.

Mercenary writers don't care about ideology and they don't care about art. At least not very much. They want a paycheck and will say or do whatever they think their bosses want to hear.

I suppose you can also judge a writer on a scale of 1-10 on writing talent and 1-10 on schmoozing talent (if you are Hollywood you have to be able to schmooze).

It really doesn't matter where a writer falls. THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO MAKE DEMANDS!
