The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

I expected it would be crappy, but not THIS crappy. I wasn't going to watch it anyway so it doesn't matter. Sometimes, movies are so bad that they are good but I haven't seen many of those movies in the 21st century. Land of the Lost (2009) is a lovely exception.

 

The smarter move would have been to not make the movie at all, but all things considered this was a good way to salvage things.

 

I think Midnight's Edge commentary is usually excellent. I especially like his analysis of the modern feminist ideology.

Who posts Critical Drinker reviews first is a battle between @NIGHTBRINGER and myself.

It feels like when Joker and Penguin were fighting over who should rule Gotham City and then the Riddler shows up and tosses his hat into the ring.

(Nevermind that neither the Joker or the Penguin can ever resolve their battle).

Anyway, it's a bit long but Clownfish TV gave a review and synopsis of the Barbie movie by a middle aged mother and her teenaged daughter who both grew up with many Barbies. Clownfish TV is not a group of anti-woke crusaders but they dislike wokeism. I would dare say they represent the middle of the spectrum.

Short version, they disliked the Barbie movie but they did not hate it. They certainly smelled all the political propaganda.

I've been listening to a lot of material on Disney's problems. There are a lot of rumors but the rumors from independent sources seem to be reinforcing each other. If these rumors are true, I doubt it is enough to make @NIGHTBRINGER satisfied, but the news sounds positive for people who do not like Kathleen Kennedy.

The gist seems to be that Kathleen Kennedy has a very ironclad contract that means she cannot be fired unless she is caught doing something illegal, but they are removing her ability to make creative decisions so she has limited access to the office but is still drawing a paycheck.

It looks like someone has been cooking the books on recent Star Wars projects embezzling money and it probably goes back to Kathleen Kennedy but she is setting up Lena Hedland (once Harvey Weinstein's assistant and currently KK's assistant) to be the fall girl.

The witch is in place, but she is rapidly losing Flying Monkeys. Many KK loyalists have recently quit. Others are having their tiniest indiscretions scrutinized or being reassigned to grunt work to make them quit or turn stool pigeon on KK.

But even if Kathleen Kennedy not only gets fired in disgrace, but goes to jail, that won't save Star Wars or Indiana Jones. Or Willow, but few people care. I care a little, I liked Willow but it wasn't a pillar of my childhood or adolescence, I do like the goofy wizard.
