11 more models painted. 6 warlord fusiliers 4 converted Wargames Atlantic spearmen. These are Persians with heads from victrix ancient iberians. And 1 warlord swordsman. Currently without a shield and awaiting more of his unit to be painted so as to be put on a unit base. The swordsman actually represents a testing of theory. I heard that if you use a magenta base coat, dry brush white and then use a yellow ink you will get a stronger yellow with pinkish undertones that create a gradient effect. I may have gone too heavy on the dry brush, but he stands as proof that it does work and allows the yellow to shine through, so to speak. Something to note and refine later.
Another six hand-gun infantry. Basing on these is work in progress. These were a test of the color theory a discussion / technique whereby you base coat with magenta before dry brushing white and then applying a yellow wash to get a deeper yellow. I think the results show success but I don't know if it's worth the extra effort. Thoughts? The rest of these were very basic washing and single coats. I'm aiming for tabletop standard. Also, one test Stark infantryman
The Flight of the Archimedion, a diorama. The theme of the next publishing group book is flying machines, so I use something that's been in my bits box for several years now and created this diorama. It is still a work in progress, and I need to get some epoxy and figure out a base. This is painted for the guild, and my head Cannon fluff reason is that a group of Guild soldiers including dwarves from the fighting pit enclave got magicked through a portal and found themselves themselves in a Dnd esque romp through an AoS karadron overlords sky-port. They end up commandeering a frigate, and Timarcus kraft, the Celestial wizard in the crows nest, was somehow able to portal them and the ship back to where the rest of the guild is. Thoughts very much appreciated.
I love the idea! great work on the customized characters on the ship! The colors are quite much metal, perhaps you could single out some plates in a somewhat different color to break the great block of mono color. The tower is a great diorama part. Be sure to counterweight the tower properly Grrr, !mrahil
I look your advice. The main hull is now blackened and the struts connecting the main atheric generator are a coppery orange.
@Imrahil this is where we're at. I pinned the hell out of the join and used 5020 PSI strength JB weld as the glue substitute.
This is Jeff. Jeff thinks he can take down an airship with a rock. He will feature on the eventual full base.
Well, she broke off, with the flying stem at the bottom suffering the break this time. Despite pinning. It was superglued instead of epoxied. so that may be why. I've epoxied it back into place. Jeff will have his nemesis!
3 fanatics for an in progress unit and 12 screaming peasants aka militia. I just need to pick out their belts but that will be for after some ZZZZ's
I haven't painted in a week. I've been clearing sprues and building things. I'm hoping to put paint to minis tonight.
