I am a little slow on forum activity due to vacation with the family. This does not necessarily mean no hobby-ing: when in Namur I visited the GW with my kids and they liked what they saw. This lead to a little painting clinic once back at home, Yesterday. The youngest(4) had some help from me now and then Grrr, !mrahil
I have been working on my Moria Goblins. The test models are getting along nicely: Already started a bunch more Grrr, !mrahil
Yesterday I had time to play a game of Battle Companies with my eldest son(almost 10 years old) This was his second game ever and he enjoyed it very much eventhough he lost the scenario. He played the Last Alliance company (of which two models he had painted himself) and I played an Angmar force. The scenario was Show of strength. I won by 1 extra kill for my leader. I killed most of his models, but in rolling for injuries he did just lose 1 warrior and gained D6 influence points with a recovering hero to spent on new recruitements. He rolled a 6! So he regained his warrior and an extra one. I will now have to convert a warrior of Numenor to carry a bow. Grrr, !mrahil
Thanks And here you go: The used parts and the donor mini A mock-up to see if I would like where I was heading: And the model put together (glue is drying as I write) Ready for primer and then my son can paint him Grrr, !mrahil
Nice, simply but effective and now the paint job Also I love your Cave Troll. Always loved them from the movies(Also Mordor trolls) but I find them hard to get right in terms of colour and gradients. I found I wasn't happy with my (Mordor)troll until near the end when everything came together, until then it didn't really look right to me. For me I always find there is a point when painting a model that clicks and you get a "ooh, that looks good" feeling but that varies as to when model by model.
Thanks man! In this case the whole paintjob has come together with the Agragax Earthshade at the end That is a job for Legolas or any other archer in battles to come Grrr, !mrahil
I have continued work on some long overdue Saurus Knights. All that is left is basing... applying my new style. So it takes a little more effort. Grrr, !mrahil
I also have started work on my little project for the Feathered Serpent contest. i hope I'll make it in time Grrr, !mrahil
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. You must be handling your miniatures too often. You seemed to have completely worn off all the corners off of your square and rectangular bases.
Last Wednesday I picked up the miniature of the month: Freeguild soldier (Cities of Sigmar canon fodder) I created the base out of the sprue material. At home I felt the urge to start painting him: I am going for a color scheme based on the Excelsis scheme. Grrr, !mrahil
