One of the military campaigns for the unification of Italy. This was part of Garibaldi's "expedition of the thousand".

Being British I'd never really given this particular conflict much thought in the past, but it's interesting to see wargames of other countries' own unique wars.

What rules and miniatures did you use for your game, out of interest? The chaps in the red look suspiciously like Perry ACW Union models...

Ah, this was only an exposition table. Anyway, we usually use black powder rules.

Regarding the models... you have a good eye ;)

And which company made the chaps in black? They look more like metals.

Digital post and preview quoted from MMF:
Festooned in feathers and wielding the more esoteric weapons of the Mexica Empire, these Aztec Eagle warriors are the perfect complement to our plastic Aztec warrior set.
The Eagle warriors were one more numerous of the Aztec/Mexica warrior orders. Also called cuāuhocēlōtl, these fearsome fighters along with their Jaguar warrior brothers-in-arms, were the highest warrior rank a commoner could attain. In effect, commoners who attained Eagle or Jaguar warrior rank became minor nobles, and as such this warriors path was one way for mexica commoners to increase thier social station.
These figures are sculpted in full battledress of a feathered warsuit, or Tlahuiztli, along with a helmet made of carved hardwood. They are armed with maces, hand axes (similar to a north american Tomahawk but not identical) and a two handed māccuahuitl war club variant.
Designers note: These models were designed to complement the plastic set of aztec's Wargames Atlantic Currently produces. With their release and alongside earlier digital products, customers will now be able to make every warrior order in the Aztec/Mexica military.
These miniatures are being supported now, and will be available for download in the near future. Make ready to take the fight to the Conquistadors of cortez!

It was a demonstration at Milano Wargames, so not ours.

HOWEVER, we have it. Never played up 'til now, but in our gaming group we also have A LOT of miniatures (albeit only romans and gauls) so we'll certainly play it again, given it seems fun enough. :)

This game has taken too much dust on itself, time to set it up un the table!

Either you're a lucky devil with loads of local Wargames Conventions in your area, or you're taking your time to post all your photos of one such convention.

I know this isn't entirely historical, but it's more historical than Warhammer so I fancied putting it here.

After many weeks' worth of gathering inspiration through watching 'Let's Play's of the old 1998 Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds PC game and looking up model ranges to be used to make various alien races, I'm happy to announce that I'm writing a set of War of the Worlds wargaming rules, based upon the ACW ruleset I obtained at a Wargames Convention a couple of months ago now (which I have uploaded here).

I'm likely one of the few on this site who's played Black Seas in person frequently enough to have their own miniature flotilla (and enough spare models for a second), but I can definitely say that it's a lot of fun!

And while we're at it, i haven't pictures of a very special Bolt Action scenario, fighting the Battle for Ortona (80° anniversary), italian campaign, a small city located in the Gustav Line.
It was the first Canadian Division vs the 3rd Fallschirmjager regiment

that being said, no pics but a YT link, showing the amazing replica of the town center
