Stage 1. He is technically at stage 2 now but I was too tired to take a photo before I went to lay down. I'm dealing with sinus pressure at least sinus headache. I will get a photo of stage 2 when I have a moment.
My build time today was spent attaching Shields to priming stands with Blue tack. Painting, if I do any, will probably be the first stages on a couple orcs and finishing up some skeletons. That might be it for a few days. I'm dealing with some pretty intense back pain that I haven't had before. I don't know if I pulled the muscle or something else but it aches. Right between my shoulder blades.
That big guy looks great. I really like those green accents. I'm guessing it isn't a GW model, where is it from?
First painting hour, non consecutively. Everything here has received 1 step/shade. My exploratory swatching wasn't super successful so I just decided to do the best 3 on the scarab swarms and decide when they dry. Then repaint 2 of the swarms.
2nd non consecutive hour of painting. I didn't like any of the tomb swarms. I decided to dry brush them all with caliban green and move on. If I get another unit of swarms I'll try something different.
Everything is done barring final basing dry brushing. Orcs need basing but that happens en masse later. Oathmark skeletons don't count as they are yet without shields. Standout was the Japanese Warrior Monk.
10 more ghouls, the gorewarden, the varghulf courtier, and 2 out of 20 crypt guard are now built. The rest of the FEC starter set next. Priorities have shifted because I now have a group I can play AoS with. That's not to say I won't progress the Army of Ka-Sabar as well, but I feel like I should ram through as much of my death faction AoS stuff now. I may also work on stormcast in the near future, with the edition shift on the horizon.
The new FEC knock it out of the park. great sculpts. Horrible sprues, mind you. GW's sprues are inefficient and ridiculous as ever. The models are extremely fun to build though. looking forward to painting some of these later today. I primed a bunch last night.
