Don't knock it, that was really a thing back in the early years. I've got a photo around here somewhere of my grandfather as a child riding in a dog-drawn cart. Don't ask me when it was taken, I know it was pre-World War II, since he served in Italy under Patton, so I'm guessing the mid 1920's? Maybe as late as 1930.
Don't knock this, either. I used to have full conversations with my late kitty Raja. He was pretty intelligent. He's also the reason I coined the phrase "things I always knew I would say eventually, but did not expect to be saying to a cat..."
I would have to go dig it out. I know which photo album it is in, but couldn't for the life of me tell you where it is at the moment. Okay scratch that, it was exactly where I thought it would be... Guess I'm somewhat more organized than I think I am sometimes.
...aw bugga, I misremembered the photo. Turns out it is a wooly-goat of some kind?? But that is my grandfather, in a cart, pulled by a small animal, sometime in (I want to say) the 1920's? I think? Couldn't tell you for certain.
