I am hearby reinstituting Small scales under the new title of grand scales models, and count, as a separate count of my yearly records. Due to the nature of my work, I may be painting a bunch of things at this scale in the near future.
I did not nail the dismount in regards to spacing on these two elements of teppo ashigaru. But otherwise I'm generally happy with them. I went with the paler green this time around which I think really pops. Plus painting 47 models in a couple of hours is a total I can get used to.
Logging my progress from the past couple of days: I painted several stands of 10 mm samurai the other day. I also did a three-figure vignette as a tribute to a member of the SCA who passed several years ago. He wore samurai armor and regularly carried a spear/glaive into battle. I have prior commitments this weekend that may take me away from painting. But I am going to jump back into things as soon as possible.
I'm prepping for another paint and take table day next week, which is where my hobby focus is. But I've also primed more samurai. I've been meaning to get painting time in but life has had a hefty schedule lately.
paint and take table prep is complete, and just in time as the event is tomorrow. I'll be back to regular painting shortly.
I've decided that it's going to lead to an ultramarines successor chapter, called the Brotherhood of Heraclius. Blue/bone, most likely in a halved pattern on the armor. I built five primaris assault intercessors today, and a Terminator librarian yesterday. The ancient from the other day is going to be a one-off. I decided I'm going this route because most of my other 40K imperials are now trending towards blue paint schemes, to differentiate them from my other projects. I've also had two larger scaled models arrive today. Both of these are gifts for close friends. They will be displayed here when done.
Those intercessors are primed and will be painted later today if I can help it. Some infernus Marines apparently were dropped in my mailbox 5 minutes ago. I'm currently waiting for a car's oil changed to be finished.
After further thought I'd like to put some words together. Behold: Primaris infernus Marines = despite being an easy to build kit, this was quite fun to put together. In fact I've liked every easy to build primary skit I have put together thus far. The assembly cuts aren't ridiculous, and most of them have not had gap issues. Plus, the gigantic flamethrowers are awesome. I look forward to painting them. Gift project 1: this is 100% painted, and all I have to do is a bit of dry brushing on the base and then add some basing materials. Then it can be packed up and made ready for presentation. If the destined owner agrees, photos will be posted in this blog. Gift project 2: I added a giftee significant detail with greenstuff. This is finally cured, and I will be priming the model tomorrow. Leviathan Terminator librarian - base armor color is done. 1/2 chapter colors added. Lots of details on this one.
The librarian is still in progress. This is the miniature I painted for my friend. It's a 54 mm (marketed - I suspect it is slightly smaller.) version of Eleanor of Aquitaine, whom I painted in my friend's favorite colors. A whole bunch of Marines have also been primed.
Brother librarian Odeon, Brotherhood of Heraclius ultramarines ultima founding successor chapter, is finished.
