A bit more progress on Tau (and bolt action minis because I needed to transport them).
20 pathfinders preshaded, 10 fire warriors assembled and about dozen drones in various stages of work.

Also unit of crisis suits almost assembled.

First ever commision job inbound! Guy who bought my Leviathan tyranids asked me to paint more. After discussion, he sent me package.

Also, they play escalation league and we agreed that as long as he doesn't want large swarms or titanic models, I am his painter for this army.

Nurgle Knight done! It arrived in march and I started on it immediately, which means that this puppy took me half a year of on & off work. That makes it second longest project I ever worked on. For now, pictures are HERE. After voting, more photos will be attached to separate post.

Nids are cleaned (all mold lines brushed with Mr.Cement to smooth them out) and models are based. Everything should be dry and solid in the morning and I'll take zoanthropes to work, so I can prime them during lunchbreak.
    IMG_20240827_212928.jpg

I also found some bits to put on Tyrannofex base, since psychophage was dragging severed marine hand.

Not at all, you clean mold lines with xacto knife as usual, but sometimes this leaves marks. For example flat surfaces, small notches or small splinters in hard to reach areas. You then basically take liquid cement (that I use as glue anyway) that already has brush applicator and just gently do single brush stroke over area where mold line was. This melts plastic just a tiny bit and smooth it out. You can also use it on some forgotten mold lines that are not removed (or in VERY hard to reach areas), you simply stipple and stroke the area till mold line is melted and absorbed to plastic around.

It is really quick and helps a lot, especially with drybrushing where everything becomes visible. Those three warriors took me about 5 minutes total and I had to actively search for areas to clean as I didn´t clean models myself, so I didn´t know where to look.

There is also additional technique, where you take bottle of liquid cement, dump a bunch of cut sprues into it and as it melts, it creates "Sprue goo" that can be used to fill small gaps. Advantage over two part putty (green stuff, milliput, UHU) is that you can take clean liquid cement and smooth it out right away, or later. It also creates "welded" bond as you basically melted two parts of model together by same material.

There are dozens of types, this is the one I use after trying out 5 different ones.

Some progress on Nids. Warriors still need highlights and bases. Tyrranofex base is preshaded. I also 3D printed objective as surprise for the guy.

Oof, this month is important milestone. After more than two years and painting 5 armies, I finished first two bottles of speedpaint. Malignant green and pallid bone.

Good thing that I bought whole second set while army painter was getting rid of it after they released second edition of speedpaints. I can only imagine that about two and half years from now, I'll be scavenging second hand market for more bottles.
