Now this is interesting... that's the first meme I've seen that illustrates how AoS is dying... meaning certain portions of the Internet other than this site know it too. Certainly the dearth of new factions since the beginning of 3rd, Warhammer Fantasy's return and a completely uninspiring 4th Edition are all doing their bit to hammer nails into AoS's coffin.
To be honest, I can't really see AoS dying out in the near future. TOW looks to be pretty low priority for GW, so I can't see it taking over for AoS. I wonder what AoS' sales metrics look like? I was under the impression that it was doing fairly well (though I could be wrong).
yep, it's the same feeling i have. TOW is definitely the lowest selling product, if you compare it to AoS and 40K. Don't know about overall sales, but i don't think AoS is going bad. 40k, of course, remains the top.
I've always felt AoS would eventually be relegated to the same as fantasy or blood bowl or necromunda or 30k. Basically in time I think GW will be "40k always and everything else on rotation"
My area they are playing it but because the feeling is that it's a low priority not everyone is getting stuck in. It also doesn't help that half the people are more interested in getting the models for their 6th, 7th or 8th edition armies... I can't offer actual proof as I haven't had much time to play as I've been working double shifts for the last month but that has been what my friends have said for the store.
I'm still going to give TOW a try but I refuse to rebase any models, so I can continue to play 8th and 6th edition. Hell, I've been stocking up on 20 mm bases so I can base future purchases in ways that enable that.
I'm still salty that my beastmen were forced to change bases a few decades ago . I've since sold that army but larger trays is far more likely than ever changes my Skaven, Tomb Kings, Empire...
Welcome back, esteemed @NIGHTBRINGER, the forum hasn't been the same without you Ha, I can see it being more accurate if you went forward in time to play 14,000,065 different PS5 games, knowing you
I have played a few (much more since I have my PS Plus extra game library with hundreds of "free" games), but not nearly so many. As for wargames, the number is indeed much much smaller. I never claimed to have played that many, that was Doctor Strange. Don't shoot the messenger!
