    hello hivemind

i need some help understanding this specific sentence under the mage-priest palanquin rule
    p31 of the armybook

"Additionally, while they have the troop type Infantry, they are never considered to be ‘models on foot’ for the purposes of spells, magic items and special rules."

and as troop type we see "Infantry (Character)"

i find very little rules or spells specifically mentioning 'models on foot'
arabyan carpet as enchanted items being one of the only applicable ones

Where exactly does this rule come into play ,
am i for example protected from (thunder)stomps and killing blow ?

    Extremely rarely

No. Those special rules are contingent on the target's troop type. As the Slann is still classed as Infantry, he is still a legal target for thunderstomps and killing blow.

I am assuming that he is not targeted by any spell or rule that cannot target flying units.

Since he does not have the fly special rule, it's only fair that he can't be targeted by such an effect.
