20241229_124422.jpg 1500 pt game of 7th edition, Dwarves vs Beastmen. Beastmen almost had it but the dice betrayed him. A charge of minotaurs with hero level minotaur was hit by my miners and we didn't die, in fact he did no wounds. Then a turn later he got a charge into my longbeards and wasn't able to do much. If the dice had been so bad his tactics and outflanking were brutal.

Thanks! He is usually a lizardman player but has been obsessed with beastmen for a while. Eventually we will have ourselves a civil war battle.

A game of the Edition I began Warhammer with, featuring two of my fave armies! Great stuff!

Having had to work over Christmas and the New Year I have hardly had any time for the hobby.
However I managed to finish this over 2 days.
The white rabbit from Alice in Creepyland.
He stands about 7cm high and wide

So I bought the old collector's guides for lizardmen and chaos to add to my collection of 6th edition related books and resources.

Added some greenstuff straps and then put on gear for my next round of Saurus Deathriders. Finished undercoating them this morning.
    upload_2025-1-8_18-37-23.jpeg

Not sure how much it counts, but I sketched out the shapes for what should be a Saurian font last night. That is, I have the vectors drawn out. I just need to figure out how to set them as a standard font file. Its for a stupid side-project idea but I'll post the font here if/when its done too.

Thanks all! Dwarves are one of my mostly painted armies, mostly as I've bought things since and I'm trying to build a slayer army. I liked beastmen and this was originally my army. I sold it to him when I needed funds for other armies and GW had abandoned it. We usually play 7th edition main rules with 6th armybooks. We've allowed for 7th edition armybooks but with the caveat that you don't be a dick. VC and DoC just got insanely powerful and less fun when you really go full power. I still love 8th edition but we have a few longbeards who aren't as agreeable to it.
Working on some terrain Rick's Cafe by Sally 4th. All built but the color pallette for th building needs tweeking. Slowly wkrking on the set dressing. I need to save up for the Casablanca minis next. 20250109_143512.jpg

    This, is a Hex-Trak tile.

This is a Hex-Trak tile with 1" of foam board on it...

What are they for? N/HOn30/HOe/On18 model train layouts. Guess what I'm tinkering with right now?

Are you making a modular setup? I have 12" square tiles I'll be working on when I have time. Side note I'm going to buy a warmaster dwarf flame cannon so I can cast up several dozen. I want to add Iron Drakes to my dwarf army but can't stand the plastic models. So I'll convert some.

Yeah, but actually for model trains. I have some On18 industrial bits and bobs that I've been tinkering with for a few years. Up until now I couldn't decide on benchwork because of limited space. This will let me build something of uniform size that is easier to store when I'm not using it.

What scale? I have vastly different likes for trains, really small so I can build terrain and it not cost a fortune and O as they fit in with my wargames.

My friend Kaes traded hobby favors and once again hit a home run. In return for building models for him, which I enjoy, he painted several models for me, which he enjoys. Have to say I got the better part of the deal but he thinks he did. I love having friends who game. 20250114_000923.jpg

Using spray varnish for the first time. Hopefully it stops metal models chipping so easily.

The advise I was given years ago is to first spray a gloss varnish, it is a stronger protective surface. Then spray with a matt to make that shine go down and to add another layer of protection.
