That also works. The gloss is just a little tougher but wither way you're doing right with two coats. Just don't be hasty like I am half the time and not wait long enough for the cost to fully cure

...Again, On18. O scale (1:48) on N gauge track. Well, Peco HOn30 track, really? I like big buildings and trees with really narrow, little industrial trains running through the scenery... though I have On30 and HO as well...

If you're interested, On18 is reasonably affordable? You can use Kato unitrack sets, and there's a power chassis from Kato (Kato 11-109) that usually goes for $20-30 US on Amazon or Ebay. Several Facebook groups on the scale/gauge combination.

I'm a tourist when it comes to trains. I like them but mostly to add to my scenery as who doesn't like moving parts when gaming? I do like going to train shows as those are amazing to see what people can create. One of my coworkers had at least twenty sets of trains. It was so frustrating that he moved and didn't have the space for them and they were relegated to boxes. I was hoping he'd have the space and we could build him his city set so he could enjoy his trains during his retirement.

I don't know if you are aware but rocker/crooner Rod Stewart is a big train enthusiast. He has a spectacular city and rural train setup. He uses his time when on tour to build things for his table.
This is a photo of just part of his cityscape.

Yeah, I've seen articles on his layout in Model Railroader and other magazines. It's pretty huge and really well-detailed.

Two thin coats (HAH) of Testors matte varnish has never let me down. The only downside I ever had with Testors has been the small size of the spray can.

I suppose difficulty buying Testors cans in the past and potentially still to this day might also count. I suppose/

Been dipping in and out on painting my two saurus infantry seargents. While giving them a bunch of straps, belts and accessories make them look more modern, it adds a lot of careful painting to do.

20250126_091510.jpg Time for a few cacti to join my terrain. Need to seal the sand but they came out nicer than I thought they would.

Still more to go. It's a big beastie. Here's a skink for size scale purposes.

Looking forward to the end result and paintjob. It shall be glorious. My redcoats shall look fashionable and have a bitchin' ride as they travel to battle. :p
