Well soon we will have a pair tournament and I wonder as usual to some suggestions. The rules are the following 1000 points army each, both can have general bsb and influence each other units. Heroes can also been in each other units. The idea is that he will play Exiles with level 3 caster, one bombard, duke or paladin on pegasus with glyph necklace that will give MR 2. A big realm knights unit.
An alternative to ruby ring would be Exiles magic items (wand+vial), both give once a game a fireball power level 3 and the vial once a game a flame attack (as a salamander). But they would cost 35 points so I should remove both javelin and shield.
Omg the frontier axe is ridiculous! If the unit strength of 14 is required to score, don't you need a Saurus block better than that in case some die? Or is it the original starting strength?
I agree =) The balancement is just bananas with the new arcane journals... I should have specificied that is the original US that counts. That the reason i won't pla ya lot of saurus since they cost a lot and don't do a lot.
Well true but they still need to be alive at the end, also you still have 126 points left which doesn't buy you something truly useful like a bastiladon with a solar engine. I think I would either a) drop the skink chief and get an ancient stegadon, or b) put the remaining points into the saurus unit, maybe get spears and shieldwall, and try to ensure they are there to score. I doubt brett infantry will be! Also I'd maybe give the skink a BSB... no sure about that though.
a) Is a good suggestion i haven+t thought. I'll think about it. b) Bretonnia will have both an infantery and a realm cavalry as scoring (just close order). So don't really need a BIG saurus unit, just one more scoring unit. Shieldwall was of course in my considerations =) The only problem is that if i remove the skink hero i can't play terradons, and it depends a bit if Bretonnia will play a lot of pegasus or not.
